I think that you have mistaken where I was going with this. I think that it was a travesty that the Enquirer made any mention that early who "they" thought the player of the year should be. I am not saying that Maile doesn't deserve it again, maybe he does, but let us look at all the other wonderful talent in this area and then make a truly educated and unbiased decision.

Why is there even any discussion about this? If I remember correctly, I believe that the Northern Kentucky Enquirer had Maile picked as POY long before any pitch was thrown or bat was swung.

Where did you get this information from? According to the KHSAA website, you have accurately posted one score, that being the central game, as fact. Highlands only recorded four shutouts during the regular season. But in return, scored an impressive 475 points while only yielding 92 to their opponents for an average of 47.5 scored to 9.2 yield.
