Ryle must utilize the passing game and running game and not become one-dimensional with Elliott. I know the kid is good but in order to beat Highlands you have to bring everything to the table and unfortunately I just don't see it happening.

If the Birds win, it will not be because Ryle is one-dimensional. Ryle will not try to win the game with Elliott on the ground, although Travis will get some nice yardage. The Raiders know they have to pass effectively and mix it up to pull the upset. This will be a great game. Ryle is much better and quicker on the D side of the ball plus improved on the O side with the changes that were made after SK. People are putting too much stock into Ryle's crappy performance vs. SK. That was one of those games where SK was emotionally sky high and played great and Ryle was flat for some unknown reason. Ryle will not be flat vs. the Birds or they will get flattened. It is up to Ryle to prove that the SK debacle was a fluke. Heck, wasn't it just one year ago where SK made major changes and turned into a completely different team after a game vs. Boone where they looked terrible?? De ja vu.

As a Highlands fan I have a tremendous amount of respect for Ryle's program. You didn't duck or hide and stepped up twice this year against a nationally ranked team. Thank you for giving us a game so late in the year. You will be a better football team for doing it and I will be rooting for you in the playoffs.

Ididn't know Ryle had a passing game . They have a great tight end,but the previous Highlands game he had like,two catches, and the smallest HHS players were bringing him down without a problem. :confused:

Highlands had trouble filling thier schedule. Ryle agreed to play twice. It only happened after every possible effort was made to get someone else other than Ryle. I would have liked to have played someone else, but it is going to be interesting to make comparisons from the beginning of the year and the end.

Highlands had a chance to play Colerain and turned them down. The Cardinals contacted Coach Mueller about a game this year and they were rebuffed so...not quite "every possible effort"...just the ones that Dale thought would be a very good shot at a W.

Assuming what you stated is accurate I'm sure Dale thought beating two of Ohio's powerhouses in one year would have been to demoralizing. He's trying to be a kinder, gentler coach.
