I heard from my girlfriends friends uncle's cousin's friend at 31 Flavors that Coach Krzyzewski was seen on the Highlands campus last week and may be interviewing for the job.

Why do we always assume that hiring a coach should happen fast. Technically practices cannot start until June 1st or after school lets out. It is true that they could be missing weight training or open gym, but it is more important to get the right candidate.

Also I would guess that Highlands is waiting to see what teaching spots open. I would be surprised if they didn't require the coach to be a teacher in the building - and a good one at that.

Agreed. Better to do it slow and right, than fast and wrong. With the amount of experienced starters returning as seniors, I'm confident that they have the leadership to do the weight training without a head coach. I'd like to think that either Willie or the asst coaches are doing what needs to be done until a head coach is named. (And yes, before any one asks, I'd feel the same way if we were looking for a football head coach). :irked:

I have no problem waiting for the right candidate and they have wealth of talent coming back, I am certain those boys will be ready as many are playing AAU ball currently. I know some of the freshman are very good football and basketball players, I am hoping they continue to play both sports. It is important that they make the right hire as the basketball fan base the past couple of years has been poor. It would be nice to have a shot of enthusiasm in the program. This all can be done with the right hire (good luck).

My guess would be Schumate, Mike Flynn, Brad Carr, Damon Kelley and Feldman (current JV coach).

That could be a winner although I have heard that Scott Code initially showed interest. What subjects do these guys teach? I know Feldman is already in the system, but what about the other 4? That in all honesty may be the deciding factor.
