Highlands Coaching Candidates?

I could!!! He already lives in Ft Thomas:thumb:

I realize he's been a long time resident of F.T. He's raised his family in the same home he grew up in. I'm just saying in my opinion, other than that, he may not have any desire to coach at HHS since he's spent so much time at NCC.

How about a chance to possibly knock off the Dogs next year and a trip to RUPP ARENA with a very solid 7-8 players with tons of Varsity experience. That might entice him if he was inquiring about coaching at Cooper. Wow, that is interesting. He must be itching to get a Boys job.

Actually I talked to Coach Dawn the other night at a function and he is very, very happy and content with the girls position at NCC. We did talk some hoops specifically girls and his NCC girls should be the favorite to be All A State Champs and wouldnt surprise me if they dont win the region next yr. Besides that Iam with BirdHustle, no way does he leave NCC to go to HHS. Remember this is High School and not college where money does not come into play but loyalty certainly does.

I know Bert Richey has Varsity Head Coaching experience at Grant Cty. He would be a great fit the HHS imo. Another name to throw out there would be Mike Vories. Maybe doesnt have Varsity HC experience but has coached some of the very best in the state of KY on AAU teams. Being and Alum and a basketball great at HHS I could see him being a great candidate that the boys would adjust nicely to. If one doesnt know Mike he may be the greatest ball handler to ever play the game in NKY. True Point Guard.

Will HHS require the coach to be a teacher at the school?

Agree that Vories may be one of the best PGs in NKY. I would hope that the AD selects a person that has proven they can build and run a successfull program. I could see Vories as a valuable assistant though, especially to work with the guards.

I asked that earlier. The boys HC has always been a teacher. I don't know if it is mandatory though.

Although I cannot vouch for the 1st part, I agree with the rest of it. Vories may very well do a great job, but AAU & running an HS program are very different.

FWIW, I have always heard that Jimmy Cooper was the best ball handler ever in NKY. Granted, I've seen neither.

Rumor has it that Danny Sullivan has thrown his hat in the ring.

Very good coach with obvious ties to the community. Great candidate and his son Vance is a very good player. They would add a lot to the program.

I believe Dan Sullivan is in administration at Walton. I seriously doubt he would entertain leaving an administrative position.
