Highlands Coaching Candidates?

I completely agree, just pointing out that just b/c he may like it there, doesn't mean everything is hunky dory. Didn;t meanti imply anything, sorry. I know nothing about the administration or anything at all about CCH.

Naturally, people are going to be somewhat confused / upset with last year's results. The team went something like 8 - 19. That's unacceptable; however, when you have that type of a season, there is plenty of blame to be spread around. The coach, obviously, is going to catch (and take) a lot of that - and rightfully so; with that said, it's not solely his fault.

He cannot dribble for them. He cannot shoot for them. He cannot take charges for them. He cannot hit the open man for them. He cannot box out for them. He cannot set screens for them.

There were quite a few problems with this year's team, ranging from injuries to talent, to egos, to discipline to free throw shooting to senior leadership.

It is what it is, but there's no doubt in my mind that those young men are better off as young adults in society after receiving the tutelage of Mike Listerman. And after all, that's what high school sports are all about.

And that's the type of coach that Highlands should be, and most likely will, pursue. It's also, from all indications, the type of coach who just left.

I would think that Coach Feldmann would deserve an interview. He has been a part of the program for a number of years and coached with/under Coach Schlarman and both of the Code brothers.

I think Carr and Shumate would be good hires if they're looking for local coaches with head coaching experience.

I hope Mike Listerman coaches at Cov Cath into perpetuity. Interestingly (considering the Colonels' 08-09 record) I heard much less criticism of Coach L this year than in years past. Considering the flak he has taken over the past couple of years, the Highlands opening might present Mike with a moment or two of reflection.

Are you serious about these choices? I about tossed up my lunch. How about Hicks from Conner or maybe Chevalier from Dixie? One issue here might be whether or not there is a teaching position because Willie is going to continue to teach. Another interesting name might be Kevin Listerman.

Lol. I like Feldmann alot. Butler I know has gotten at least one head coaching job offer in Ohio(can't recall the name, it was small), but he wouldn't be my choice. I just think they're going to want to look at their Ft. Thomas options first.

Does Feldmann have a shot at becoming the varsity coach? Hasn't he been with the JV for 4 or 5 years?

Does Feldman teach at Highlands?

I know he is a teacher, and I think he teaches at HHS. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks. :thumb:

Mike Flynn is back in NKY and would be a perfect fit for the Bluebirds

Mike Flynn a candidate?

I talked to a few current players at the house and all thought very highly of Feldmann.

Mike Flynn a candidate?

Hearing the same thing.:thumb:

Hicks would be a great addition but he is a teacher out at Conner.
