Both players for HHS last year were starters. Both players started both their Jr. and Sr. year. Dale sent 3 other players but had other comittment (baseball I think).

First thing that comes to mind is the number of playerrs

Fort Thomas had Trick or Treat. Everyone seemed pretty safe to me. Just sayin.

Maybe placing the scoreboard where visibility is best in the stands is by design. Meaning that they are hoping those who stand along the sideline area by concession will now sit in the stands. It does get pretty crowded and congested in that area.

There was originally 5 boys that were going to play for HHS but several backed out due to summer jobs, etc.

Highlands will have Mitchell Dee and Jake Heck.

I think there are several Highlands kids playing.

I have watched Q play since he was in first grade and always knew he was going to be an exceptional baseball player. Congrats!!!!

He is being honored at the Football Banquet this Sunday.

There is one Highlands player in Honorable Mention. Crazy!!!

As a parent of three sons who have played Basketball, Football, and Baseball at HMS and HHS I feel its a matter of commitment. Each sport is now requiring more of a commitment from the player. Whether that be off season conditioning, playing on AAU, etc. For my middle son who is at a cross roads with playing baseball knows that if he wants to see the football field as a starter( O-lineman) his Jr. year he will probably not play baseball. He knows he needs to commit only to Football so he can get stronger and quicker. Which won't happen on the baseball field. We are also forgetting the most important commitment they have and thats academics. Always comes first! There were several spring school nights when we wouldn't get home from a baseball game until 10 ish and would still have homework or have football practice until 7 ish, come in eat dinner take a shower and be up doing homework until 11:00. Again its all about how committed you are to be your best at any sport.

Im thinking there are some very talented Sophmores and Juniors that will get in before the Frosh. Hopefully the JV plays the whole 2nd half.

After the game, one of the Dads from Scott County came up to us and stated he thought it was really great that we brought so many fans. He congratulated us on the win and made some very nice comments about several of our players. I think he felt bad about the way a few of Scott County's parents behaved. Also, there was one HHS Mom that felt her son was getting verbally abused and walked down to the sideline with 2 fathers to check it out. It really had no factor on the game! It was a beautiful day for football and HHS came out Victorious. Go Birds

Jr. Football buys from the same local bottler and we don't buy our water from them. I would say that you should renegotiate your contract. Thats crazy to charge $1.50 for a small water.:madman:

I have a son who is a Freshman and played JV most of the year. He was asked to play in 3-4 Freshman games through out the year and I felt bad for the kid whose position he was playing. I was discussing this with a 7th grade parent and she stated that the 7-8th graders should appreciate the fact that they made the FRESHMAN team and have had the opportunity to play. If they had left all the Freshman play only Freshman ball many of those boys(7-8th graders) may not have made the team and gotten the chance to play at all. It is a tough call to make! At this level of play you need to put the players on the field who can win the game. Bottom Line!

Murray for HHS is a Freshman and was told he pitched a great game by HHS and NCC parents.

Congratulations Hunter!!!! We are all very proud of you and everything you have accomplished. Keep working hard and great things will happen for you at Centre.

In general do most NKY Freshman teams have only Freshman players? I think that HHS kept 20 kids on the Freshman team. There were 7 Freshman who made the team. 1- moved to JV/Varsity, 2 moved to JV and will probably play some Freshman games as well. So you have 4 Freshman on the team. It is a little disappointing that only that many Freshman tried out. I know that of the 4 Freshman who are playing Fresh. ball all are very good players( won Div. 1 class A Knothole last year as 8th graders, moving on to SWOL this year). My son tells me they are scrimmaging Beechwood today at 4:00 @ Beechwood.

My son told me there are only about 5-6 Freshman trying out, the rest are 7th & 8th graders. Freshman team will be very young. I am surprised not more Freshman are going out for the team.
