Junior Jake Cain was "untouchable". 12 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. TJ Schowalter pitched the last 2 innings for his first save of the year. Murray pitched a nice game for the Birds as well.

Hitting leaders for the Breds were:

Brady Gray 2-3, 2b

Shaun Meyer 2b

Domenic Millard rbi

Cain was really good today. Congratulations to him! Fun game to watch.

PA guy said Birds had only 3 hits (2 bunt singles & grounder between SS and 3B in the bottom of the 7th). Is that back-to-back shutouts for NCC?

NewCath's rotation looks strong 1-3. Hopefully the bats come around.

Murray for HHS is a Freshman and was told he pitched a great game by HHS and NCC parents.

Murray pitched a great game. Kept the Breds off balance all day. If I'm not mistaken NCC had 10 or so hits, just couldn't put hits together.

This is NewCaths 3rd shutout in the last 4 games.

Holy Cross 14-0

CovCath 3-0

HHS 3-0.

Tough start for the Birds, are they really 1-9?

Yes they are but you really need to look at the schedule. Many of the teams they have played are very strong teams.

They are also very young and inexperienced at the VArsity level outside of Rizzo and Ligget so I get that. I just hope they can get some W's.
