Featured Replies

2nd grade teacher at Johnson grade school in Ft Thomas.

Yes he is great with the kids but I just dont see where he has any VArsity HC experience and there will be too many candidates interested with HC experience.

Pretty sure Principal Rowe likes Coach L alot. I would think that as a former basketball coach himself, Rowe understands the rough situation Coach L had with injuries this year.

As the Highlands job go, yes, Mike Code is out. I'm getting that from not only here but other sources that I know are reliable. I would say look down state for a candidate or look in house. Two names I would throw out there are Josh Feldman and Terry Butler, although I don't know what they're teaching degree situation is.

Iam not sure about Feldman but doesnt Butler coach like 7th Grade Girls at Highlands Middle School. Surely the powers to be will be looking for someone with some Varsity Head Coaching experience.

Somebody mentioned Scott Code earlier. is he out?

Butler coached 7th grade boys the past 3 yrs and I heard he stepped down this past season.

I really think Josh Feldman is a nice guy but if Willie couldn't get the select few to come out, I highly doubt Josh will be able to. Why was Kenny Sheilds so successful on getting the Football players to come out. Because coach knew pretty much what went on in each and every students life. Kids wanted to play for Coach. Coach knew everything there was about being a teenage kid. Coach had a reasonable answer for just about any question. And I mean any question. I had him for health so I know. Some of coach's famous lines that I can remember....

Shortleg(It meant you weren't giving a 100%)

Carrying the Lunchpail(It meant you had a chip on your shoulder)

Philly(We all know what that meant)

1000 word assignment on why you can't dress for gym class(Not Gooooood!!!!)

I really think the School Board needs to take a very long look on who they want to come in and teach and coach these fine young men of Ft Thomas.

Since were throwing names out there how about Danny Sullivan (former Bluebird) who played under Shields. I know he is out at WV but any chance he throws his hat into the ring?

Man I was just getting ready to post his name.... He would be a nice addition to our community. My brother-in-law played under him at Campbell County and couldn't say enough good things about Coach Sullivan.:thumb:

Sullivan is assistant principal at Walton. Would he be willing to leave administration to come back and coach?

I've heard from a fairly reliable source that Kevin Listerman was interested or interested in the position if it opened. I also heard he too is expecting a baby which may influence his decision. I believe he will be the choice and move his family back to his birth place of Fort T.

How about ..... Clyde?

While I'm flattered, I'd have to pass.

I am touched though.

Only if they signed him to atleast a 5 yr contract. He is a major job hopper.

What about the young coach that was at Silver Grove a few years ago? Can't remember his name but he turned that program around and then I think he just left.

Maybe STeve Hart will come back to coaching, I know he still teaches at SG.

:sssh:

Mike Flynn is back in NKY and would be a perfect fit for the Bluebirds
