Highland has a very balanced offense, with 2461 rushing and 2381 passing. Johnson Central only has 227 yards passing (as of 11/07 KHSAA stats) although they do have over 4200 yards rushing.

There is something to be said for a team that is so one demensional and still has the success that JC has. But on the other hand, Highlands uses the whole field and JC will have to defend it. Starting out I am sure that Highlands can concentrate on stopping the rush, which would lead one to think that JC may try on bust them early with a big play pass, but this is where athletes come into play. JC recievers are more used to blocking than catching and Highlands DB are used to people trying the big play on them.

I think that Highlands wins but the game will live up to the hype and be a great one but Highlands will have just too much firepower defensively for JC.

Tony Guidugli's combine speed was a 4.68 in the 40. I would post a link to it but that may be a rule violation.

Tony runs as fast as he has to...that's the way he is. He accelerates when needed. If not needed, he cruises. Especially when he's looking downfield and passing. He's had the luxury of an excellent O-line that gives him "leisure time" to throw the ball. He can haul it when needed...and is tough to bring down!

TG is what I would call elusive. I don't think the Birds will showcase him as their #1 running option either. JC should fear his arm more than his legs.

Tony is a tough kid from a very tough family. His father Dave is a strength & training guru. His three older brothers are Highlands legends and D1 athletes. Gino & Ben at Cincinnati & Jeff at Southeastern Louisiana. He got pounded by them growing up and is the toughest of the bunch because of that. Get in his way and he will deliver a blow. He is a QB with an LB mentality.

You can get a little bit of what its like for the Guidugli's here:

Did not see a unbeatable team when watching film this week QB for Highlands. Very slow, not enough talent to beat JC.

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

There was another HHS QB who garnered the same criticism about being slow on the run... But Ohhh, what a land of humanity he left in his wake!

#22 J-Lo, Pillsbury Thro Boy, Hefty Lefty come to mind?

When Tony makes up his mind to run... he is able to get yardage by not running around would-be tacklers but through 'em.

Johnson Central would like to welcome all the Highland fans to the pre-game festivities on Friday. There will be corn hole tournaments going on starting somewhere around 4:30 or so. WSIP radio (98.9) will be starting pre-game activities at 5:00. For all the Highland fans, you should be able to pick up WSIP by the time you get to Stanton coming on the mountain parkway if you come I64 then at least by the time you get to Catlettsburg(but should be before that). Hope you guys will listen to "Kentucky High School Game Night" after the game for all your scores from across the state playoffs on your drive home.

I wouldn't call their QB slow, but he is able to make mistakes if you get at him. [This is true of any QB though]. Having seen both teams play, Highlands has more than enough talent to beat JC, so I'd be careful what you say.

What is the difference in the posts that have talked about lack of speed from JC and how Highlands just has more talent. Don't see too much of a difference in those kinds of posts and this one.

With the girth on that bus, Paintsville better close all the buffet's.:scared:

JC is the NUMBER 1 ranked team in the nation in rushing i dont think Highlands is number 1 in anything and C.C fans were the ones after a week of small talk on this site that went home crying JC 29 Bluebirds 7 .

You do realize Highlands averages 45 points a game and their lowest output of the season was 18 against #8 ranked Colerain, Right?

JC is good but I doubt their defense is better than Colerain's.

JC has played a VERY soft schedule and Highlands would have beaten JC's toughest opponent, Belfry, by 4 td's or more.
