Take the Mountain Parkway. It's a very nice ride. I really do expect a close game with the Birds pulling it out in the 4th quarter and JC unable to pass effectively when they have to.

If you take the Mtn Parkway, you should turn at Salyersville on 460 and take that directly to Paintsville.

I was just sitting here listening to the Johnson Central/Cov Cath broadcast. Unless my ears were deceiving me, one of the JC radio guys predicted the HHS/Ashland score exactly right. And this was in the second quarter of their game!

Johnson Central will not be able to compete at the Highlands level. Home field advantage will not help them..... It didn't against Belfry.

HIghlands 42

JC 7

Well, home field does matter and Highlands is not invincible. I remember the 2002 game at Rockcastle when Rock destroyed Highlands I think 48-7 and had the clock running in the 2nd half. It can be done at JC too.

I can agree and sum it up in just one word - "Rockcastle." :thumb:

Glad you remembered that game. I do too. It was great. Got the Rock to State Finals.

I don't know if this has been asked but does JC have many players go both ways. Conditioning seem's to always favor the Bird's late in games. Just curious if this will effect the outcome. I know the Bird's have a few but this hasn't bother them.

I believe JC's whole backfield goes both ways as well as their receivers. Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure about that.

Glad you remembered that game.
We have a hard time forgetting that one.
I understand this concern, but come on, Highlands in 2002 was nowhere near where Highlands is this year. That team was pretty thin on talent, if I recall.

That sounds like a typical Highlands excuse

That Rockcastle was more talented than Highlands? What do you want? It was the weather, home field advantage...etc. Those are excuses. The better team won that game.

Thaaat's right... anything is possible! I was at the 2002 Rockcastle game... Rock had one heck of a running back and O line that just tore the Birds apart between the tackles. I do not expect the JC O line to manhandle the 'Birds D line in this contest. It may be a battle for a few quarters... but the HHS depth will prevail.

Don't think a running clock will be visiting this contest... unless the 'Birds jump up quick and JC caves. I don't think that is going to be case.

Now don't go letting the truth mess up a perfectly good insult.

Yeah and way back in the mid 1700's there was a really big war with these Colonists and some bogus British Dudes....no wait, I guess that doesn't have anything to do with this game either!

Let's get back to the 2008 Highlands team versus the 2008 Johnson Central team, or nine pages are going to be enough.

This could be Coach Matney's year. It is hard to pick against Highlands, but I am taking Central 22 - 21.

Forget Jerry's, I'm heading to DQ for the footlong with sauce! Been taking my indigestion medicine all week in preparation.

Don't forget the slaw. I talked to the owner of Dairy Queen, he said show up with a Highland t-shirt and get a deal. (he'll love me for that one. ) I venture to say that you never pass through Paintsville again without wanting to stop by and grab a footlong.
