The Massey site predicts Highlands 42 - Johnson Central 23.
I don't think the Massey site has been updated yet to include last week's results. Massey predicted a 34-31 JC win over Covington Catholic last week.

Where is that barfing smilie when you need it? :creepy:

That was bad wasn't it.:D

And I'm sure Mueller is playing the counter card: we're the King of the Hill and JC is going to do everything it can to embarrass us and knock off of the Hill and that this game is more than just about this game. This game is about Highlands, its tradition, and its claim to being the best football program in the entire state.
This is so true. Despite what MonsterMan might have us believe, JC does not have a monopoly on "the pride factor." The Birds come into every game with the mindset that they have something to prove. This game should be no exception. However, those who predict this to be a blowout, or even an easy win, wil probably be proven very wrong. I think we can win; but our players and coaches have to stay alert, focus and execute perfectly.
I have a question for the Johnson Central fans:

Assuming this is a close game late and JC scores a touchdown and are an XP away from tying the game, will Matney go for 2 or go for 1?

Will be interesting to see if he is still snakebit from the Belfry game when going for two backfired and he took alot of heat.

If it's a chance to beat Highlands at home in the playoffs, you bet your bottom dollar it's a two-point conversion attempt. The odds of converting the one point aren't that much better than the odds of converting the two, and all you are rewarded with is the opportunity to play more football if you do make the one. I say, if the chance arises to put 'em away at any point, you take it and you take it with enthusiasm and gratefulness.

I voted for Highlands in the poll. Of course. One aspect that I am concerned with is the fact that this game is away. Highlands has not had a playoff game at their opponents field in some time. The Birds have hosted every playoff game since 2006. The test will be how the Birds handle adversity in a hostile environment. That being said, I have faith in the team, and see them winning in a pretty close game.

Go Birds!!

Winner of this game will likely face WC

And WC probably thought they'd be playing Mercer County this week too. I wouldn't count out LCC until they actually lose. They're wiry, as we like to say in the mountains.

The card that Matney can play, which Mueller cannot, is the disrespect card. None of Johnson Central's players, none of their administrators, and none of their fans will enter the stadium expecting an easy win. It will be very easy for Matney to sell everybody on the underdog role and impossible for Highlands to do the same.

Good luck Birds stay focused

So can every other HHS opponent in the state of KY not named Trinity or X...

People are acting is if HHS being a favorite in football is a new concept...

We own the disrespect card!

Matney might create that illusion for his players; but when it comes to being disrespected, we have quite a lengthy history. Not by most; but certainly by some.

:thumb: Thanks again for all your help.

The main road that you'll turn off of is in the bottom left hand corner of the picture.

I did not infer that JC has a monopoly on pride, I said Matney can instill the "Pride Factor " in his team. You are right, both sides will have to play a perfect game to beat the other.

So, when does Rodney Dangerfield come into play here?:D

Oh boy, I'll tell ya...we get no respect. No respect at all!
