Alabama 17 UK 14

Featured Replies

So they are going to win 6/7 games? I don't think so.

Well, 6 of 8 (or 9 depending on the SEC Championship).

Take away the 2 screen passes and you take away a TD and a bunch of yards.

Same could be said for almost any game though. Take away a 78 yard run from Bama and you take away a bunch of yards and a TD.

My point.. while Hartline is not great, he's also not as bad as some folks are making him out to be. IMO he's getting better every game, and he's only started 5 games.

I wasn't complaining about him - just stating the facts. He did blow some plays today, but that was a good defense that he was going against.

It was good to see UK play a team that good so competitively. Our defense is very good. I think had Micah Johnson and even Lumpkin been available it would have really heped, especially against the run. But injuries are part of the game. I hope to see our offense show improvement every game. That would be big for us to actually move the football on a regular basis!

Doesn't matter how well the defense played. You can't score 14 points and expect to win at Alabama

The fumble at the end of the game had me rolling on the couch, not saying UK would have won the game, but you don't see that type of thing happen on a regular basis. UK's defense should be commended, they gave up some yardage but only gave up 10 points. Bama has a nice team but they aren't NC caliber in my mind. Luckily for them, they haven't trailed once this season, I don't think they have the type of team that can play from behind. I couldn't help thinking about Morgan Newton behind center today, nothing against Hartline but I just don't feel it from him.

How was Hartline's amazing "no one touched me" fumble the play of the game?

What do you say about all the dropped passes and the dropped balls that should have been INT's? Or the ball that should have resulted in a fumble recovery that ended up giving Bama a FG. Or the poor onside attempt by LS.

Hartline's fumble hurt but there were many other plays that also had an impact on the outcome.

I was very pleased with the Cats "D" today, very impressive. Especially when one considers how much they had to play and how well they had to play to keep U.K. in the game.

I never have and never will believe in a "moral victory", imo there is NO such thing. U.K. lost. Plain and simple but after watching Bama dismantle UGA in the 1st half last week I was really expecting a 3-4 td Bama win.

Hey UK's offense actually outscored Alabama's offense. The only difference is that when UK turned the ball over, Alabama was able to get a touchdown with their defense. UK's defense didn't turn any turnovers they got into touchdowns.

And also gift wrapped a TD for the Tide D. Weak point.

And for those dogging Hartline, remember he only throws em. He can't catch em too.

In defense to the UK receivers, Mike Hartline throws a very difficult ball to catch.

He does not spin the ball well at all, and the wobblers that he throws are like catching a knuckle ball.

Not to mention dropping the ball in the endzone to gift wrap another 7 point spot!

UK's defense is legit and should keep them in every game on their schedule this season IMO. It's funny to think the Vandy game might be tougher than the Tenn game:)

I think they beat Ark and it will be a very low scoring game with S.C. IMO.

UK's defense is very legit, but a concern is a good defense that is not getting much help from an offense will wear down and not be that good a defense over time.

UK's defense will not continue to be this good if they don't start getting some help from the offense.
