October 8, 200817 yr Pass to Julio is caught and the ball is on the Cats 30 or so, penalty, ball on Bama 's 30. 1st quarter with us up 14-0. Where did I insult anyone's team? Ever? Bama was leading the SEC in the fewest penalties, top 5 nationwide. Then we have all these because "Thats the only way we can stop the Cats great defense". Now who is being insulted? Georgia had two block in the backs on their punt for a TD return last week. Two, now where did I mentioned that more than once? Out scored us 30-10 in the 2nd half. That was a huge play. I moved on. Read my post, I said that Bama deserved the win but you were the one that pointed out everything that went against the Tide in a swipe at UK. I just pointed out that UK made just as many miscues and a missed holding call pretty much cancels out the bad offensive pass interference call. The score ended up about like it should have--a score either way. You talked about the fumbles and missed field goals for the Tide. The Cats had an unforced fumble for a score and unforced dropped passes that stopped drives. It all pretty much evened out--the Tide was better, but not by much. The way you come across is that Bama just messed up and had a bunch of bad calls or they would have killed the Cats. Well, the Cats messed up just as bad and had at least one huge bad call or they might have won. You come across as very condescending. By the way I never said anything about that was the only way Bama could stop UK's defense. I said before that the best team won but they weren't the best team by very much. The game probably should have been more like 27-24.

October 8, 200817 yr All three Alabama scores were the direct result of massive errors. 1) Long TD run was definately a blown, blatant, holding call 2) Hartline's "drop" into the endzone 3) D. Jones' inability to recover fumble resulting in 3 points.... Conversely, without a blown coverage UK doesn't score as well in the 4th Quarter... Alabama had every opportunity to win this game 31-7, but it can also be said that UK could have very well won this game 17-0 (trailing by two TD's they went for it on 4th down in Field Goal Territory as well). IMO, the better team won, Alabama is about 2 TD's better than UK IMO.

Actually, Alabama was a FG better than UK and that is just because we pulled a blooper on a fumble recovery.
October 8, 200817 yr And that was determined when they played the game. Oh wait. Actually, Alabama was a FG better than UK and that is just because we pulled a blooper on a fumble recovery. You really think if 'Bama plays up to par, without the mistakes, they are only one FG better than UK?

Read my post again. The intent was to show how much a role mistake splayed in the game for both teams and how varied the score could have been. I am as diehard of a UK fan as they come, but I will call a spade a spade and from my seat in Tuscaloosa this Saturday I think Alabama would consistently be 2 TD's better than UK if both teams played mistake free football, I also think that last year's UK team would have defeated the Tide this past weekend.

October 8, 200817 yr You really think if 'Bama plays up to par, without the mistakes, they are only one FG better than UK? Did you not see all the mistakes UK made? They both made plenty of mistakes. If BOTH teams played mistake free, I think we'd have seen a similar spread.
October 8, 200817 yr You really think if 'Bama plays up to par, without the mistakes, they are only one FG better than UK? I'm telling you, this is a good UK team that can compete with the top level teams in the SEC. Many of those mistakes were due to UK's defense and speed. This isn't the doormat UK team that used to give up 70 points to Florida.
October 8, 200817 yr You really think if 'Bama plays up to par, without the mistakes, they are only one FG better than UK? I think if both teams play up to par Bama is a 7-10 point winner on a neutral field. UK's defense is going to keep them in any game.
October 8, 200817 yr Just talked to my son yesterday who lives in Alabama and is a die hard Tide fan. He said we sure didn't play very good Saturday and I reminded him of what coaches used to tell me when I coached YMCA basketball. I taught very in your face aggresive defense, and most of the time that's how we played. It hardly ever failed the other coach would almost always say that's the worst we've played all year, and I would think that's because we made you play that way.
October 8, 200817 yr Is there any possible way Coach Brooks could put Morgan Newton in a Hartline jersey and let him play QB from now on?
October 9, 200817 yr Cats played well and shut down our 2nd best reciever. Mike McCoy was out. He played against Georgia. In no way I showed disrespect to Kentucky. I just know we have played better teams than they have and with both teams undefeated going into this past saturday I felt we would win easy. Kentucky caused a lot of our problems and sometimes you have to give the other team credit, maybe we got out coached. I just hate to read all the posts about the calls. Win the East and maybe we win the West and play again. Let the season be played and I've moved on.

Do you there was a hold on Coffee's 70+ yard run? You never answered....
