Alabama 17 UK 14

Featured Replies

The fumble in late in the game bobbled by David Jones was huge. You could almost a hear a collective exhale at Bryant-Denny. So many opportunities for UK to change the outcome, but the defense played great can't be disappointed losing to number 2 by three.

Just saying, there are plenty of talented teams in the country with HIGH powered offenses who could pass on Kentucky, something Bama couldn't do today..I am not taking anything away from UK's defense because they played one heck of a game, but just to many talented teams in the nation to say they could beat anybody..

There's a big difference in would or could.

Bama also had 49 rushing attempts to UK's 20.

Alabama recorded 179 of those 294 on their first 20 carries..

There's a big difference in would or could.

Just to give you a list of teams I don't believe UK could handle at home..

Penn State

Oklahoma

Missouri

Texas Tech

Texas

Ohio State

Just to name some..

If you think that wasn't one of the biggest plays in the game, well then I really don't know what to say.

It was a pivotal mistake, but I consider a play something a team earned. Hartline dropped the ball with no outside force applied. Bama didn't have to do anything but pick it up. I'm just saying I think the play of the game should be something more like the first TD run or the FG.

Agreed. Julio Jones can make anyone look good though.

What a way to end the game, with a line drive kick out of bounds....I would have just liked to have a chance to have got that, and even if we didn't get it it would have been fine. We played all out today. Just to many mistakes today from UK. People say Alabama made mistakes, but UK made just as big of mistakes. The penalties, the fumble for a touchdown for Alabama and then the not recovering a fumble.

I personally like to blame every mistake on Lones.

Agreed..his two big passes were called back..

I honestly don't think Kentucky would beat any of those teams above either, but I also wouldn't say they couldn't. In years past I would have said that Kentucky teams couldn't beat a lot of teams, but I believe Kentucky's defense is good enough this year to make it a possibility.

Kentucky's defense is good, and as we saw today if the defense can play like that and handle offenses then they will BE in games, but their offense just isn't good enough to make them WIN games..that's the big difference..

I'm guessing he meant anybody in the SEC, because I hope he didn't mean anybody in the entire country..

Those statements don't make any sense. The SEC has produced the last 2 National Champs and it is pretty much consensus that either the SEC or the Big 12 is the best conference in the land this season. UK just played the pants off of the (at this time) best team in the SEC and #2 ranked team in the country--ON THE ROAD. If they can do that then yes, they could indeed beat anyone--especially at home. Now there's lots of teams that would be heavily favored and would probably take care of the Cats handily. However, they proved that they can play with and potentially beat anyone.

I agree that their offense isn't good enough, but their defense is good enough to put points on the board. Like I said, I don't think they would beat any of the teams you mentioned, but to say there's no way they could is a little extreme IMO.

I never said anything about the SEC or the Big 12, all I said was Kentucky's defense is good, good enough to KEEP them in games, but their offense isn't good enough to help them get over the hump and WIN games. Also, of the past two NC teams from the SEC, they both had talented offenses, this UK team doesn't..

OK, the defense is good and can do that, but it can't put up 21 points a game for the Cats. Also I didn't say there wasn't a way, I just mentioned SOME teams who I thought would beat UK at home..
