They will (or at least SHOULD) be 4-0 heading into SEC play. They surely can win 2 of the last 8 on defense alone. They will have great opportunities to win against USC, Arkansas, Miss. St., and Vandy. And should be competitive with Alabama and Tennessee.

I hope that you are right, I really do.:thumb: I don't see them being competative with UT or Bama though.

:thumb: Another thing is that he (Hatline) threw a few of those incompletions away when nothing was there rather trying to throw it in a crowd. I am also fine with him at QB.

Besides, the best thing about him is that he has a brother that plays for the Buckeyes;), very smart family...one with Ohio State and one with U.K. :D

That is probably the biggest problem I can find with his game. That alone is reason enough to start Fidler. :thumb:

UK put an SEC defense on the field today. I was very impressed with the defensive front. They appeared to be very solid. Coach Brooks stated that he hoped the defense could carry them until the offense catches up. UL also had a very solid defensive effort and Im sure their offense will come along, Overall, I would say that it isnt time to panic for UL or time to go nuts for UK. UL will improve offensively and UK will face stiffer and more athletic people in the SEC. I will admit that UK does look good to possibly be 4-0 going into Bama(man, they looked very good vs Clemson). Its going to be an interesting season for both UK and UL but, right now, Im going to enjoy this one. Good job Cats!!

Hartline's ability to throw the deep ball is my biggest concern. I hope this is something that was partly due to him being nervous.

Honestly, some of his deeper passes looked like I was out there playing. You absolutely have to be able to complete some down field passes in order to have a running threat.

Like many others have said though, he threw no INT's and wasn't sacked any. I'm very happy with those two stats.

Also, he beat UL today and more importantly is 1-0 as a starter. You can't complain about that.

:thumb: Another good post stick, I agree with all that you said. I do think that U.K. may be on the outside looking in when it comes bowl time though. I hope that I am wronbg and they can get enough wins.

You really think with a defensive performance like that they won't go bowling? The SEC is good, but unless UK's defense gets their heads uncomfortably misplaced from this win, and the offense doesn't improve, then I doubt they'll miss a bowl game this year.

I can only see improvement on the O's side. Hartline played conservative and pretty smart, if shakey. With more confidence, and practice, I can only imagine UK's offense getting better, despite the weapons they lost from last year. Sure, it'll be harder without Burton and company, but look at it this way... UK's seniors last year had to be some great leaders to go from two horrible seasons to going bowling. If they set as good examples as I imagine they did, then this UK team can be GREAT.

If they're going to beat my Cardinals, then they'd better beat everyone else. That's my thoughts on the matter.

U.L. is pretty dang bad. U.K.'s defense and special teams looked very good imo but they were not playing against much.

Now why is it you are so positive about Ashland in the Ashland -Raceland thread, but so negative about Louisville? :sssh::D

I think Cantwell will be fine. He doesn't have anywhere close to the weapons Brohm had the last few years.

People said the same thing about Andre Woodson last year.

It was worse than Woodsons IMO.

I'm happy. Technically, the Cats are still in the chase for the national championship game :thumb:

C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS!!!!!!

Great win for UK. Myron Pryor's fumble return for a TD was my favorite play of the game.

If Pryor is able to continue to play this well in the SEC, then he'll be an ALL-SEC player at years end.

We will/should be 4-0 heading to Bama so I guess we will/should be in the national title hunt for a few more weeks.

Too bad we will/should be 4-0 with wins over 4 bad teams.
