I second that....:thumb:

I think that the dream team could about take on the redeem team right now and still give them a heck of a game, if not win.

Probably. :D

Give them a few weeks of practice and who knows.

Well, maybe a few months of practice and conditioning. MJ and Magic would say "Game on!"

Come on now. If they were to play right now (heck, give the Dream Team a month to prepare), they would lose by 50.

92 by 8-10(92 makes free throws at end of game to extend lead.)

While Bird and Magic may have been past their prime and that might take away from the 1992 team's ability just a little bit I think they would still win a 7 game series with the 2008 team. The one thing that jumped out at me while watching this year's final with Spain is this: If the Gasol brothers were able to do enough damage inside that Spain was only down 2 in the 4th quarter than what would Barkley, Ewing, Robinson and Malone be able to do? I just don't think that this year's team could stop them inside. I just don't see many advantages for the 2008 team--they are great defensively but then again so were Jordan, Ewing, Robinson and Pippen. I think a player that hasn't been talked about much in this discussion could end up being an x factor in this matchup. Clyde Drexler was still 2 years away from leading his Blazers to back to back NBA Titles and behind Jordan may have been the best athlete on the team. In a one game matchup I think either team could win but in a 7 game series I'd take the Dream Team 4-2.

The vote is 43 to 3 right now for the Dream Team! I'll go on a limb and say most folks on BGP that were old enough to really remember the Dream Team chose them. Those not young enough probably lean towards the ReDream team. It's a no brainer for me the Dream Team. The only argument I could see is that some of those guys had lost a step. If everybody was in their prime I don't think it would be a game.

I disagree...the bolded is the only way it could ever swing in the Redeem Team's favor. Most of those guys haven't reached their primes...Paul, Williams, Lebron, Howard, Bosh certainly haven't...and you could argue that Wade, Melo, and a couple others haven't either.

We don't know how good some of these guys will end up being. All I know is that they have a high ceiling and when they've all finished their careers, the individual collection of talent on this team could look better than the Dream Team.

Not even remotely close, the 92' team in a blowout, that team imo was better at ever position and in every phase of the game..

The game woud probably be over by half.

92' team by 20+ unless they just put it on cruise control late in the game and let the 09' team within 15 or so.

That's my thoughts on the subject, as well. The '92 team would be dominate.:thumb:

People are underestimating just how physical the Redeem team is. Sure they don't have as much depth in the interior as the Dream team, but guys like LeBron, Melo, Kobe, and Wade can rebound and bang with the best of them. I'd like to see a list of the rosters including height and weight. I'm just curious as to how the Dream team would blow them out.

After watching these Olympics, the gap has become closer I think.

I think it would be a toss up and would make a better series than one game experience.

I still lean towards the Dream Team but the defense that the Redeem Team played (PRESSURE) would give any team fits. Also remember how well they did against much better competition than the original Dream Team.

It would be a Classic. :thumb:

The Dream Team would win 142 to 96. Now that's if everyone on this year's team is healthy. I find it amusing, that Mike and Mike were actually having this conversation, but they'll be the first to tell you they don't know that much about basketball.

Spain showed that if you play mistake free basketball, for the most part, and hit the boards that the US didn't have the bodies down low to defend the post. I would think that Ewing and Robinson would have had a field day if Gasol could score 19. Not to mention that Spain outrebounded the US. Additionally, if Fernandez can go for 20 plus on this team, what do you think that Jordan would do?

The Dream Team would dominate in the paint and that is the big difference in the two teams.

You are taking out specifics of the closest game the Redeem team had all tournament, that seems like a good way to judge them
