The matchups are so intersting in this hypothetical. The DT would be favored, but who really knows in a 1 game scenario. Wade, LBJ, and Paul would be tough to guard. Also, if Duncan wouldn't have been frustrated w/ the FIBA setting he would be on this team instead of Prince. They need athleticg bigs to counter the centers that shoot the 3 internationally, but it would be a different team if they were put together to try to beat that team. Some guys on the DT couldn't guard some of the newer guys and vice versa.

Thats the most laughable thing I have ever read on here. Drink some more of the Dream Team cool-aide. You guys are caught up in the notion they are the best thing since sliced bread. I have little doubt in my mind this years team would beat them if they played.

Let's watch the performance against a legitimate 3-point shooting team before we get too excited. We should be able to get a good feel after the next game versus Australia. Besides that, I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon until they actually win a gold medal.

I have little doubt in my mind this years team would beat them if they played.

The 08 team is crazy good on defense. We can speculate all day, but neither team would win by double digits.

I'd take the Redeem team. Yes, MJ is MJ, but Kobe is a good enough player to atleast nearly cancel him out. LeBron would be an absolute mismatch for anyone of any decade. I'd take Chris Paul and Deron Williams style of game over Magic and Stocktons style in a one game format. They would be a nightmare for Stockton, and I think with the way Magic played it would play more into the 2008 teams style of play. Also you have to figure in D Wade and Carmelo, who are extremely good in FIBA style play for whatever reason. THe 1992 teams is a better shooting teams overall, but Kobe, Deron Williams, a Michael Redd can shoot, LeBron is streaky but if he's on, yikes. As for the battle in the paint, it would really be based on tempo, which i think the 2008 team would control. I don't think a running game would be to the 1992 teams favor with this team, Bosh, Boozer, and Howard while not as polished as Robinson, Barkley, Malone, and Ewing, would be Match up problems as well. I think MJ and Kobe would go at it in top form, and LeBron would be the factor that would lead the Redeem team to victory. Oh, and I'd take Tayshawn over Christian Leattner any day of the week. Oh, and if they were in their prime it wouldn't even be close. Kobes in his now, but LeBron, Dwight Howard, Bosh, Carmelo, D Williams, Chris Paul, and D Wade are still a year or two away from their best basketball. JMO. A lot of ifs and could bes in your arguement for the Redeem team where for the Dream team there is none.

Top to bottom the 1992 team is better physically and mentally than the 2008 team. That said, win GOLD USA.

2) Had come out of retirement to play on the Dream Team
