I really don't understand how people think Pulley is going somewhere else and be a starter. He was given every chance in the world at an SEC school and couldn't do it why would he anywhere else ? I know talent is not the issue.

The dismissal doesn't surprise me. As a matter of fact, I've been advocating it. It'll make the team stronger in the long run. I think some posters think Pulley is the second coming of Bernie Scruggs or someone. He wasn't that good. It is addition by subtraction. I hope he gets straightened out. Stories like his are becoming all too prevalent nowadays.

Wow, you and Rowdy Red Ram are really reaching on this one. It is funny that in this situation you guys would take whatever decision is made and criticize Coach Brooks for it. Coach Brooks is not above criticism. I have criticized him in the past. But come on, at least criticize him for something he has done wrong, not making a sound decision based on getting all the information together and deciding from there.

He did what I thought he should do, granted late but I forgive his earlier mistake, but it was initially a mistake.

Not that it was ever closed but this sure leaves the door open even more for a big-time QB to come in next year.

Why was it a mistake? Do we know all the details of the situation? Did Brooks know all the details at the time? Without knowing the whole story I don't understand how anyone could really pass judgment on Coach Brooks at all.

 

Maybe you guys wanting him kicked off the team is partially motivated by the fear you fans have in your eyes when thinking about having to face the Kentucky Wildcats in a few weeks. And maybe, just maybe you feel like without one small part of the team the game won't be as ugly.:lol:

If he were simply waiting on the facts, I believe he would have said that we will wait on the facts.

 

There was enough in the papers, the police report, history, and the fact that Pulley didn't notify his coach, that some form of discipline more than a quarter game suspension would be warranted. That is where he made a mistake, but he corrected it so it is all good.

Let me be clear here, there will be no more personal attacks in this thread or comments about how others have posted or this one is finished and some of you will be on the outside looking in.

Since it is summer vacation and players and coaches are going in a lot of different directions, is probably why Coach Brooks was in the dark on this matter.

 

My speculation was that Curtis Pulley was dismissed after his refusal to do the requirements Rich Brooks set forth to enable him to return to the team. That would make more sense to me.

I just read where more information surfaced Tuesday about the situation. Seems to me that once all the facts did come out Brooks made a sound decision based on that. I applaud him for doing that.

If that were said, the response would have been, "what more facts do you need?"

 

This all came out last Thursday, I believe it was. We are talking a matter of 4-5 days to hand down the ultimate punishment, not 4-5 months. I would say it was handled about as well as it could have been given who the player was.

Here's the bottom line and the only 2 things that matter:

 

1. Brooks pulled the trigger on what he felt was right for the team once he had all the information.

2. Pulley is no longer a Cat and I wish him all the best and hope that he can turn his situation around.

Pulley has had numerous chances since he came to Lexington, and he has not taken advantage of those. I wish him the best, and hopefully he will find a school to both display his talents on the football field and complete his degree.

 

Michael Hartline is capable and will lead the Cats to their 3rd straight bowl game.

 

Kudos to Brooks.

Drug test results.

Summer school attendance.

Team meeting attendance.

Workout attendance.

Curfew violations.
