Today, we hear that there was more to the story and Brooks dismisses Pulley, supporting my argument, and I'm an idiot for saying Brooks should have done what he did. Good for coach Brooks, he righted his earlier wrong.
August 5, 200818 yr 5wide had the right approach Maybe we should just let it play out and see what Rich Brooks actually does, before we render a verdict. Oh wait...silly me. I forgot that we had a half dozen posters on BGP that know more about the teams than the coaches do. Not to mention a few clairvoyants... Keep up the good work guys. As did StrongOpenyon: Rich Brooks is a very standup guy. He is honest to a fault at times. He has coached college kids for over 40 years spanning five decades. His players will tell you he is fair and does not play favorites. He knows what he is doing in the Curtis Pulley situation. Trust me, Curtis Pulley will be punished and I trust the Kentucky coach's handling of the situation. All of those jumping to conclusions about the situation on both sides without having all the information needed to remember that Brooks is a standup guy and will do the right thing. He says what he things based on what information he has. I respect him for the manner in which he runs the UK program.

Everyone seemed to believe that there was more to the story than was being reported, and apparently there was.

August 5, 200818 yr Like was previously posted just maybe Brooks had him tested after he found out about the Louisville arrest and the two strories didn't match. Just a guess on my part.

That Pulley would get arrested on drug possession and NOT TELL THE COACH is what made it an offense worthy of dismissal, IMO.
August 5, 200818 yr Pulley wasn't arrested in Louisville. He was given a citation, which is the same court protocol as a speeding ticket. Like was asked in another thread, can you get a speeding ticket and keep it from your spouse or parents? I'd say you can. Maybe not telling the coaches about one or either and not completing the subsequent punishment for failing to notify them is a reason for his dismissal. In other words, Brooks likely had to cross his 't's" and dot his "i's" in regards to the reports I mentioned before dismissing a popular Mr. Football from his team, knowing there is going to be some backlash.
