HHSDad
Jeb Bush's last name is obviously a liability. Even if his brother and father had performed exceptionally in office, I doubt that the voters would be willing to have the last 3 Republican presidents be from the same family. Smells to much like a monarchy. But if his name was Jeb Stuart or something else, would he be a contender? It seems that Floridians love him and he did a lot for the state. rockcastleraiders
I don't know. G.W. Bush was a success in Texas wasn't he?
PepRock01
He would definitely win the Southern vote with a name like Jeb Stuart.

TheFrontRowFan
I doubt if he were not a Bush that he'd really have any name recognition. He hasnt really done anything of national importance - aside from his help in handing the 2000 election to his brother.
All Tell
I assume you are one of those that feel the 2000 election was "stolen". What proof can you present for that?

You would be correct. There is substantial evidence that suggests that further recounts should have taken place. There was evidence that a large majority of votes that could and probably would have tilted the election in Gore's favor were thrown out and never voted. Let's not derail this thread. It's about Jeb. Let's talk about his worthlessness - instead of his brother's.

AcesFull
If Jeb was not a Bush, he would be running away with the Republican nomination and would be very tough to beat in November. That being said, in a country of 300 million citizens, there must be somebody equally qualified to be president than yet another Clinton or Bush. You are aware that there was a tremendous amount of vote fraud among heavily democrat leaning areas, aren't you? As to this thread Jeb would probably be a major player as a popular governor from a key state if his name were not Bush.

And FWIW YOU were the one that brought up the 2000 election.

And he would never have won Florida's governor's mansion. There is nothing pseudo about Jeb Bush. His brother and father are pseudo-conservatives, but Jeb is the real deal. Undoubtedly, Jeb's family name helped open the door into politics for him, but Florida voters were happy enough with his job performance to make him only the state's second two term governor in history.
