Well I picked UK to win. I guess more of my heart than my brain.

 

Here's one- If Smelley was more accurate (17-30, I believe) they would have won by more. He missed some open receivers on numerous occasions.

 

On the plus side I thought Woodyard played a good game.

I am not counting him out of a trip to NYC because of one bad night.

 

I am. I believe his inclusion was tenuous to begin with, however, with that kind of performance with the World watching, (IMHO) I think he can now make other plans.

SC could very well be a Top 5 team by the time they play Florida.

Wisconsin is a Top 5 team right now and an underdog to Illinois(unranked) this weekend. Rankings are bull and you know it. SC is a bad team, and on top of that, they played bad last night, and were handed one.

Really surprised to find this only on the third page this morning.....

 

Last night was a disappointing loss, and I expect the next two weeks will be disappointing as well. Even if they are 5-3, there is no team after the next two that UK is not fully capable of beating, and with the exception of Georgia they may yet be favored over the others after Florida & LSU. What you have to hope for is that the psyche of the team is not completely shattered should they be staring at a 3 game losing streak, and that they will be able to get back on track. Nerves and mindset took them out of the game last night. They'll need to improve that to deliver on their potential the rest of the way.

South Carolina is an experienced quarterback away from being a powerhouse in the SEC East.

The good that I saw in last night's game:

 

1. The offensive line is much better athletically from past seasons.

2. The defensive line is much stronger against the run than they have been.

3. The special teams for the most part played well.

 

 

The not so good:

 

1. Woodson looked out of synch all night(USC's D was certainly a factor)

2. UK's LB's have a hard time covering RB's & TE's(maybe not SEC fast)

3. WR's had a hard time getting open(won't get any easier down the road)

4. When UK blitzed, it was not effective often enough.

I'm not suprised but am dissapointed. Losing on the road to #11 with a tough Thurs night SEC crowd isn't shocking. Seeing UK that sloppy on offense was. Defensivley I thought they waited to long to pressure and on offense they finally hit uncovered guys so they could run the ball well late. Little hurt them really bad tonight along with mental mistakes by Woodson. The pick was a tough one that the guy made a great football play on. The other 2 turnovers shouldn't have happened. Then Little dropping a punt and a walk into the endzone handoff.... you just can't do it in big games. The Cats will bounce back even though the next 2 weeks are brutal!
