October 5, 200718 yr UK is UK. Nothing more, nothing less. Just Believe. We just got ourselves expecting/wanting/believing more and know that a great season for us IS the Music City Bowl. We just got our hopes up on another level this year. Vandy and Miss. St. await to grant our dreams.....Florida and LSU, not so much in helping us to our dreams.....
October 5, 200718 yr I am so dissapointed right now. I really thought we would win this game. Way too many mental mistakes and it seemed like Woodson was trying to force plays. I wish they would have handed the ball to the running backs more. Some of the throws on first down just killed them. At least the next two games are at home.
October 5, 200718 yr Bottom line the game was lost due to inefficiency in the red zone and turnovers. The defense gave them a chance to win the game, but the offense could not cash in on drives. Count it as a missed opportunity. Woodson made a poor decision with scored tied at 10...throws pic...momentum swings...then makes another poor decision to start thrid quarter that leads to a TD. Little has a walk to the endzone, on draw, fumbles but recovers it...FG...Little fumbles punt after a 3 and out with UK going to have great field position. Simply they boogered one up.
October 5, 200718 yr South Carolina does have the #1 pass defense in the nation. They are ranked 11th. I had to try. Which means that ON PAPER it was a rough one for UK. Someone has to snap RP out of it... :lol:
October 5, 200718 yr MAYBE on paper. In terms of this game NO WAY. I hate they need to say any team is "better" after a performance like that. UK was awful in just about every phase of the game... Actually the defense wasn't awful. The offensive and special teams mistakes/turnovers were the difference tonight.
October 5, 200718 yr Keep pressure on Woodson, beat UK... Keep pressure on any QB you have to like your chances. SC has always given UK fits for whatever reason. I think SC sat in that deep cover two and UK was impatient. They should have went ahead and hammered them with the run. Tough to overcome 4 turnovers, on the road, when you dont force any.
October 5, 200718 yr Congrats to the Gamecocks...they have a very good defense and I tip my hat to their D. UK should have won this game, but I'm still very proud of the Cats. I'll be at Commonwealth next week cheering on the Cats against LSU... GO BIG BLUE!!!

Yes the O takes the brunt of the heat, but a few 3 and outs mixed around a spotty overall performance doesn't deserve a ton of credit. They didn't turn over a spotty O and they were gashed when it mattered more often than not...
October 5, 200718 yr Kentucky 4 , South Carolina 1. This is the turnover stat the main thing that cost UK the game tonight. Plus SC had 14 points off of 2 turnovers. Woodson looked rattled early, even Erin Andrews of ESPN said that he told Coach Randy Sanders things don't look to him and they should run more. UK was the better team but mistakes against a good defensive team on the road in the SEC will kill you everytime.

They don't deserve a ton of credit, but all you can ask on the road is for the defense to give you a chance to win the game. They did. Held them to negative yards in the 3rd quarter but UK was outscored. That is silly. If they cash in a few TD's instead of points then they could have forced Smelley to beat them and get him out of the game control mode. Turnovers... Woodson wasn't sharp...he missed Burton for an easy score in the first half and overthrew him...he just didn't have a good game.

When they do get the three and outs UK needs to take advantage. The reason the offense will take the brunt of the heat is because of the uncharacteristic silly mistakes that were made.
