October 5, 200718 yr I know that U.K. played bad last night but for the life of me I just can't see how some are saying South Carolina is a bad team and that U.K. had the better team. Some even 2-3 td's better. As much as I would like to agree I cannot. A big part of being the better team is to prove it on the field and not on someones pc and/or message board - it is beng able to go into another's house in the confence and coming out with a win. I also believe that it is beng able to "play bad" and still find a way to win (South Carolina did this last night - U.K. didn't). South Carolina is imo the better football team and I think they have legit shot to take the SEC East division. Good teams have chance to do this, average to bad teams do not. I am not saying that U.K. is a bad football team, far from it. They have made great strides but are not a top tier SEC team yet. I was pulling for U.K. as well as anyone but facts are facts and like I said earlier. A good team proves it on the field and not by making excuses. JMO.

October 5, 200718 yr Saying South Carolina is bad is just plain silly. The D played better than good enough to win. Certainly a frustrating game when at times it looked like we were in control. As much as we all love Andre, he killed us tonight. You can't turn the ball over like that and expect to win, no matter who you are playing. Little put together a pretty nice game outside of the two fumbles. The rush D was pretty solid and the pressure on the QB was decent. Hats off to SC... they made us pay for our mistakes. :thumb::thumb: I had overlooked this one before - excellent and realistic post.
October 5, 200718 yr Got to agree with 98, South Carolina is not very good. They would not have been ranked so high in the pre-season if not for Steve Spurrier and the fact that they are in the SEC. That being said, they outplayed us last night. Oh, but...........South Carolina's defense is very athletic and very good.
October 5, 200718 yr UK played abysmal and were easily 2-3 TD's better than SC last night, turnovers and poor execution are on them. SC is not a Top 10 team. It was a road game in the SEC, those are kind of tough. Not many teams, even the one's who have won national championships, make it through their SEC schedule without a loss.
October 5, 200718 yr On a positive note, Williams Brice Stadium is very nice and can get quite loud at times, they have a nice student section. On the bad side, There wasn't as many UK fans as I thought would be there. I didn't necessarily agree with UK's playcalling at times. The offense seemed to be very timid during the game. Needless to say I was disappointed in UK's showing last night.

I chose a "missed the point" comment not to post on what you were discussing in that post but to say I think that I have not missed the pont in your overall tone / agenda on this one. Could it be that you are trying to cover up a dissapointing U.L. team and/or I.U. team? :confused::sssh: If not then I am wrong then o.k. and so be it but that is just what that I gather.

October 5, 200718 yr Arrrrrrgh. Please make it stop. How can you say what UK showed was better than anyone? Take the loss in stride... I will say that the game was one that UK could(possibly should) have won..............but part of being a good team is not making the critical mistakes and turnovers that the Cats made. South Carolina was the better team last night as they did what it took to win and the final score proves that.
October 5, 200718 yr I would say about 2 more great recievers. Smelley clearly outplayed Woodson last night. Hardly. Smelley cost his team points . He did a nice job on hitting the wide open TEs across the middle. He had 1 or 2 nice passes to McKinley. Other than that, his passes were either off or way too late. Both passes to McKinley in the corner of the EZ in the first half were his fault. Way too late in delivering the ball to a wide open receiver.
October 5, 200718 yr Author In this instance I watched as a UK fan ( I had money on them) I gave seen 3 South Carolina games and now 3 UK games. UK is far better than SC, SC is NOT a Top 10 team. UK lost this game much more than SC won it. To say anything else is just plain being blind. 4 turnovers to 1, two within the 10 yard line, come on. UK should have won this game by 14, minimum. USC is maybe a Top 25 team, not even close to a Top 10. I've never seen a QB so locked on to 1 WR than Stinky was to McKinley last night. Also, Woodson played like a Freshman, not a Heisman candidate. UK GAVE THAT GAME AWAY, I WILL NOT BACK DOWN FROM THAT STATEMENT.
