Bad performance.   Junk touchdown towards end of game.   Corbin dominated the line of scrimmage.  Think whatever you want.

Badly, partly because the Birds were at home and heavy favorites. 

The Massey Ratings predicted a 32-21 Highlands win and gave them a 77% chance of winning. 

Will Highlands now look to move to 3A?

TP94 Ratings had Birds by 14. Tough loss but Congrats to Corbin on a big win.

Wow I really thought Highlands would win it this year or at least make it to state. As I thought Highlands was set up to go on a nice multi year type state title run again, with all the talent they have. They definitely will get at least one in next few years, rather it be with this coaching staff or not. Corbin is a very good team, but this definitely was not expected.  Especially with how Corbin essentially controlled the whole game and never really was in doubt after the first quarter. 

Congrats to the Red Hounds. They controlled this game from start to finish and made a statement. If they play like this next week, they'll find their way into the title game. 

I am, of course, shocked that Corbin pulled it off, but I am not surprised in how they did it. They won the big play game, starting with that 54 yarder and the 4th down TD pass to Stevens. 
 

They needed to control the game to not allow the Birds to exploit Corbin’s lack of depth. They did that and I think the weather helped. Amazing performance by in the trenches. 

Wish they both could’ve lost. Daggone it. Lol 

Might have been a different game if no rain. 

I’ll say I am very surprised Corbin won. I thought they would keep it close but not the other way around. My game plans was keeping the ba on the ground all year and working the clock. Is there video of this one?

Ratings, strength of schedule, etc. isn’t everything. Too many live by this in my opinion.

Congratulations to Corbin on an impressive win. I thought Highlands would win, but thought it would be close. Huge win for Corbin.

?%, as the BIG wigs say…having not seen either team play this season, I *assumed* The BirdIEs would win - “kudos” to Corbin.

Best of luck next Friday…4A is still quite “juicy”

4A is far and away the hardest class to win in Kentucky.  Corbin is a very tradition rich program, as is Highlands, Boyle, Covington Catholic, etc.  Some days are just not your day.  We can blame the rain, the refs, the coaches, the matchup, or whatever we choose to deflect from the truth.  At the end of the day, when the 11 players on your team cross the sideline and enter the field - they have to make plays.  Everyone is the prince when you win, but the frog when you lose.  
 

Highlands had a very good year and are relevant again.  They beat CovCath, Frederick Douglass, lost by 1 to possibly the best team in the state, on the road, in a game that was iced on a play that was illegal.  Beat Scott County, another regional finalist, and beat Ryle, a current 6A semi-finalist.  
 

Corbin made plays, Highlands did not.  Kudos to them and best of luck to them next Friday night.  Congrats to Highlands on a very good season.
