It's amazing to me in education, how many adults can "drop the ball" by not thinking of kids and students first.  

If more admins (adults) in education had this mindset, you would see fewer of these rash egocentric decisions!

Couldn't agree more!! This is completely an adult centered decision, not a student/child centered one. 

If the principal put the Coach on a corrective action plan last year, the coach was smart for looking else where and trying to get out of there.  Corrective action plans can be nit picky, subjective and down right petty.

Hypothetically speaking here. If a HS basketball coach builds a very successful program from scratch, one where families want to move into the district for the opportunity for their child to play for that program, is it the coach's responsibility for how some of the incoming students are affecting the "culture" within the school, as defined by the principal?

I cannot help but believe there is more to this than what is being told on both sides.  Also think this focuses on Rondon in some way shape or form.  What occurred at regional tournaments year was just the final straw.  Don’t know anything for fact, but where there is smoke often times there is fire.

I've heard this is the root of the issue, as well.

I'm sure somebody probably has way better info than me, but the jist I got was there was one parent who threw something on the court, another who had an altercation with the AD and somehow that was "blamed" on Sullivan?

Absolutely no idea how true that is, but I've heard it from a couple different places.

Or you have 90 days to improve some random, difficult performance measure that you have very little chance in succeeding, at which point you'll be given the chance to resign and we will wish you well, while the whole world knows your other option was to get fired.

Gotcha! The answer is NO. But, pretty sure I have been on Double Secret Probation, several times. ??
