If I am Sully, I am winning this regional title and leaving on my own terms. Go ahead and resign before they can get the satisfaction of actually firing you. Even if they plan to bring you back, you go ahead and laugh at them before turning in your resignation.

At this point, I don't think it matters if Cooper wins state. It seems like the decision has been made by the principal and he is going to stick to it. Also, why would Sullivan even want to stay? They lose a lot off of this team, and you know you aren't wanted.

I was thinking the same exact thing. But depending how far Cooper goes, and state tourney being delayed because of Rupp hosting NCAA, would Scott County wait? I'm certain wind has gotten to the heads of Scott County on this, and no doubt he is on the radar.

If I were Scott County I would wait it out unless something great falls into their lap that they can't pass up on. I would wait not just for Sullivan but to see what else might happen around the state. I still think Scott County should be an attractive job for alot of coaches. I don't think an extra 2 weeks would hurt them. I think Sullivan and SC would be a perfect match though.  For my own selfishness I am hoping Sully can land somewhere in the 9th and Cooper has no choice but to possibly see him a couple times a year.

I think the Sully to Scott Co. talk is all nonsense. As mentioned, he's well established in NKY area and has kids with roots here. He also has a wife with a career well established in this area. 

I've heard rumblings of a job that may open in a local school district that I think would make a whole lot more sense for him to go to. I won't put that one out there as there has been no official movement to this point.

I agree the Sully to SC talk is probably nonsense for the reasons you state even though I have divulged in it. When would you say is time frames for jobs to start opening up? Not necessarily the job you are talking about but just in general.

I think most schools and coaches let the post season playout and then make moves.

Just curious as to why this would be nonsense?  Didn't he leave Holmes to be the HC at St. Pat and then an asst at Mason Co.?  He may be a NKY guy but if there isn't a quality job open in NKY why would he not entertain the thought of going to Scott Co.?  I've heard the S.C. volleyball job may be opening up as well.

As far as it needing to be a quality job in NKY, is Scott County that top tier quality of a job to make it worth moving your family for? Freddie D and Great Crossing aren't going anywhere anytime soon, they haven't had a winning record (or close) since the spring of 2020, and they just ran off a coach in one year.

I would not undersell Scott Co….great community, new $130million campus, new gymnasium and athletic facilities, suspecting strongly that between Billy Hicks’ legacy and Great Crossing program you have a central office and hs administrators that know and appreciate what great athletics means to the overall educational experience.  Sully would probably flourish in this environment.
