Interesting that no one has mentioned what Coach Sullivan's teaching situation is currently.  Sometimes people make positions that keep coaches from having actual classroom responsibilities. I believe the stipend for a boys or girls head coach in the Boone County system is $12,750 regardless of school or success level. People forget that in most situations coaching is an "extra duty" not the person's primary job in a school. He seems to be an outstanding coach. It's difficult for me to understand this situation, especially the timing. I trust he will land on his feet, Cooper will continue to compete, some will be happy, some upset. It's unfortunate for everyone involved, but very few know the entire situation.

What if regions are messed with and he is back in the 9th? Even so, is he not nearing retirement regardless?

First school that comes to mind for me is Lloyd. One of the only logical, possible openings for next year as EJ will be moving to South Carolina and his dad would follow him? There will be openings for teaching jobs I presume around the county and it only takes one to have a stable job (and income) and allow him to coach within the county.

Let's say Sullivan resigns at season's end, regardless of any mending of bridges.

According to LinkNKY there was a really big group of supporters present on Sully's behalf at the Boone County School Board meeting last night. Board member Jesse Parks reminded the group that state law requires the state's public agencies - including school boards - to enter executive session to discuss specific personnel issues, which meant the board was not legally permitted to publicly discuss anything regarding Coach Sullivan. The board did allow the group to speak at the meeting and voice their support for Sully, though. The article specifically lists Durran Alexander, Austin Alexander, and Jordan Hampton as individuals who gave public statements.

Yes he has another son that is a freshman. I don't think Coach Walker just up and leaves this year. I think he has his roots dug a little too deep to do that right now and the way student athletes bounce around colleges right now it would probably be in his best interest to wait a year and see how things play out at South Carolina with EJ before moving the whole family. I could see EJ ending up at UC, Xavier or maybe even NKU before he is done with college. If he were to call it an end at Lloyd I would hope he would let them to know as soon as their season is over so Lloyd could try to have those discussions with Sullivan as soon as possible because they could be a perfect match.

Save this post for 1 year+ from now......According to a good source, EJ will end up at a MAC School in Ohio after SC. In the world of NIL and transfer portal, the groundwork is already being laid before he steps foot onto SC campus.

Not a knock on EJ or his game when I say this, but Tay Kinney is the only local product the current UC staff has ever had serious interest in...NKU is more likely than UC if things don't pan out at SC.

I get what your saying totally. I just think if he can show that he can atleast "hang" in the SEC for a year or 2 that UC might be a little more willing to take a shot with him. He has the tools but I think UC would want to see him dig a little deeper mentality wise.
