Judge Places Bengals' Poor Showing On Henry's Shoulders

Bengals' Henry Enters Into Plea Agreement

Chris Henry awaits his sentencing after pleading guilty to giving alcohol to an underage person.

Judge Douglas Grothaus gave Henry a stern lecture telling him, "it's time to grow up."

The Cincinnati Bengals player who has faced the most off-field troubles is spending two days in jail after pleading guilty to charges of giving alcohol to minors.

Chris Henry entered the plea in a Kenton County courtroom this morning. He was sentenced to 90 days but will only have to serve 48 hours of that sentence.

The second year player originally was facing three charges of unlawful transaction with a minor stemming from an incident in a Covington hotel room in which Henry allegedly provided alcohol to two underage women.

In the hearing, Judge Douglas Grothaus told the 23-year-old Henry that, "it's time to grow up." The judge also places the blame for the Bengals' poor record on him and said that he had let down his co-workers.

"I don't think you have any understanding how your actions have effected others," said Grothaus. & nbsp;

Henry previously pleaded guilty to drug charges in Kenton County and was ordered to enter a drug rehab program. He was also punished by the National Football League for violating the league's substance abuse policy in the form of a two game suspension. There has been no indication on whether the league will punish Henry after his plea.

Henry still faces a drunk driving charge in Clermont County and weapons charges in Florida.

Got off way to easy...

The one in Florida I think would be his biggest worry.

"The officer says he told the groups to break it up, then saw Chris Henry pull a handgun from his waist area and point it at the other group.

When ordered to put the gun down, Henry froze and then moved toward the limo and threw the gun inside the car, the report stated.

The officer says he then grabbed Henry, pushed him to the ground and ordered everyone out of the limo.

Police recovered a 9mm Luger from the back of the limo. Henry denied having the weapon, police said."

How stupid are people these days? He is lucky he wasn't shot and killed by the officer.

More from this court hearing:

However, Judge Douglas Grothaus imposed conditions on Henry in order for those 88 days to remain suspended. Henry must:

• Pay a $250 fine plus court costs.

• Have no criminal activity for two years.

• Not consume alcohol or drugs for two years.

• Report to the Kentucky Alternative Program for drug and alcohol assessment.

• Give two speeches – one at Two Rivers Middle School and one to Holmes High School athletes – on the dangers of drugs and alcohol and how they have negatively affected his career.
