Reed played scared and threw the ball away at least 4 times. Edwards missed multiple shots right at the rim, Mitchell took a lot of bad shots and missed a lot of them. DJ didn't attempt to drive the ball once. Ugo and Z had butterfingers all night. Dillingham was more out of control than normal and fouled shooters over and over. Reeves tried and played pretty good. Theiro did nothing memorable tonight.
It was a miracle they had a chance to win with 4 minutes to go looking at how UK played and how ridiculously hot that one kid was.
I love Cal and don't think he should be fired...but I do think he should consider retirement. 

The whole season we have guys that can’t finish at the rim, bigs that have stone hands so we rely constantly on outside shooting. Reeves was unstoppable, all possessions need to run through him. If Oakland didn’t shoot so poorly inside the three point line or could make a free throw UK would’ve been run off the floor. 
 

Oakland made a big time adjustment at half and decided to attack the basket as much as shooting a 3 and it laid off at the charity stripe at the end. Will they hit crazy 3s the next game? Probably not but we didn’t do any thing to make them think about shooting one. It’s crazy, they actually ran their defender into the screener most of the time.

If I was a UK fan, this would be my frustration.  You could fill an NBA all-star roster with Cal recruits.   These guys are tearing up the Association.  But his teams are woefully underperforming in the NCAA postseason.

It looks like the Vols are the only team holding up the honor of the SEC today.  That should make UK fans feel better.

The bad thing... is if UK does move on from Cal the rebuild will probably take 2 years minimum.

I hate how close I am to agreeing. Been a fun right that brought me a ton of enjoyment. Couple bounces or calls (e.g. Wisconsin shot clock violation not called in 2105, Maye bucket for UNC) and man it would've been legendary. Sucks.

SEC 1-3 in tourney play as of now (barring the Vols blow a 30pt lead), pretty wild considering how strong I believed the conference to be. Guess it was just a bunch of average teams beating average teams on random nights. I thought this team was talented enough to make a run but showed inconsistency all year and that’s what we got tonight. However you won’t show me many teams who have been able to overcome a team shooting 15-30 from the arc either, tough loss for sure. Maybe we will see Sheppard in the Blue & White next year after all.
