Kentucky is just so undisciplined under Cal.  Every time the Cats would start to make a run, they would shoot themselves in the foot with either a bad turnover or a horrific shot.  I never recall Cal slowing them down and making sure they get a good possession.  

2nd half looked and felt like a bad AAU game with little to no coaching going on.  Just run them out there and let them play.  

Time for Cal to Go!!

That being said, I'll admit that Cal has to move on. But it's gotta be the right way. You don't want to mess up the NBA connection.  If it gets dirty, all the work with a lot of previous "Cal guys" (Davis, Wall, Towns, Murray) will be washed away at UK.

 

These kids don't chase down a particular school anymore. They're looking for a coach. Plus the whole transfer wherever, whenever stuff. I'll reiterate, UK has to keep it "clean" with Cal. Can't just run him outta town. 

I'd say a 33.7 million dollar buyout is clean....real clean lol. As I always say..... fewer McDonald's All Americans.....more guys willing to work at McDonald's. The idea of bringing guys in, developing them, and letting them mature physically and emotionally seems to work. How about hitting the portal hard rather than the AAU circuit?

Shep played terrible, looked like he was sick or just totally confused, no excuses for him last night.

in 21-22 our top 7 players were 4 juniors and 2 seniors and we all know what happened that year!!  We have a coach who is a GREAT recruiter but is terrible at preparation and in game coaching.  Does it every year, panics and looks on the sideline like a man facing a firing squad and if people don’t believe that bleeds over to the players then you’ve never coached!!

That's usually not Cal's style. Rarely has he called out the players in much capacity. Usually does the opposite.

Facts do back it up. Ten years of facts at both UK and Duke support it, vs one bad game against St. Peters by a more experienced team. I think going forward a team with even just 2 freshmen in their top 5 in minutes will need a lot of luck to win a title.

We’ll agree to disagree again then, if you’re being honest and subjective then you would HAVE to admit with just a LITTLE better in game coaching Cal should’ve won AT LEAST 3 titles by now AND we’re not all in on just winning titles, just win some dadgone games in the SEC tournament and NCAA tournament against teams you’re seeded way above.   Those 10 years just prove AGAIN what I’ve been saying, GREAT recruiter, not very good at preparation and in game coaching, which by the way is what they’ve been saying on a lot of talk shows today
