Just saw a stat I did not know that in the game on Thursday when Gohlke had 32 points on 10 three's. In those 10 three pointers he only took 7 total dribbles the entire game.

This is not a knock on him, but I’m not sure his draft stock is as high as we believe. He has not gone through the draft process where his measurables probably won’t be the best. But yes, he should go. When was the last time a lottery pick returned to play college?

What measurables? If it is pure athleticism like speed and jumping, I think the opposite. He is a better athlete than people realize. 

On the lottery pick question, maybe last year - Kyle Filipowski. He was a projected lottery pick in some mock drafts last year.

Maybe you’re right. We will see.

Filipowski was not a lock lottery pick. Even if he was, the point is still the same. I do believe NIL allows for those fringe players a suitable avenue to return to school.

I can't remember if Filipowski was still a lottery pick late in the season but I know he was during the season last year. I was paying attention because I have a personal connection with his family.

I agree with you that NIL money can impact these decisions to stay. Sheppard probably could make as much if not more playing for UK next year than he will on a rookie NBA contract.

Assuming Sheppard goes top 10, that’s at least $4M in the bank. He would have to be one of if not the top college earner to make that amount.
