Cooper’s running game has came to life after not doing to much the first half of the season and that first Highlands game. Sophomore running back Keagan Maher only had 3 run attempts in that last Highlands game. Since that game Maher has ran for over 800 yards over their last 7 games and one of the leaders in the state in touchdowns. He has also had real big games the last two weeks against Scott County and Southwestern. Maher has made teams pay if they give a light box to try to stop the passing game of Cooper. 

A running offense hasn’t been successful all season against the Birds. How many 100 yd rushers against Highlands this year, Zero!

Closest was Lex Cath had a RB go for 92 yds. 
 

If you have a chance against Highlands you throw the ball and it’s getting colder every day this week.

Seems like a stretch given there is no assigned seating and it’s going to be a packed house with folks looking to get a seat wherever they can. Good luck tho.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I found some game film from the first meeting against Cooper and noticed how we were able to open up gaping holes in the trenches to run as much as we did:

 

I think Highlands forces Cooper to move the ball running in between the tackles. Without the extra hat in the box, Cooper moves the ball but can’t create explosives. Highlands does what Highlands does and wins a tight one. 21-17 Highlands
