  1. VERY true! Burns can be much more selective than Fields.
  2. I think Cooper takes what’s given and runs the ball, putting together long efficient drives which will limit Highland’s touches. I see a lot of people saying this game is going to be a blowout and I just don’t see that happening unless Cooper has turnovers.
  3. I think Highlands forces Cooper to move the ball running in between the tackles. Without the extra hat in the box, Cooper moves the ball but can’t create explosives. Highlands does what Highlands does and wins a tight one. 21-17 Highlands
  4. I think the question for Coach Burns and Fields is do they want to take on a full scale rebuild? I know Fields had some interests from good programs while at Catholic. I’m sure Burns has had even more interest from quality programs! East is a tough job, it has proven to be tough since it opened. Could it become a good job? Possibly but I don’t think it’s a guarantee. Is either coach interested in a job with this many question marks?
  5. The Douglass offense surprised me against Male. I didn’t think they would be able to move it at all and they did a great job. If the Douglass offense can effectively move the ball against Trinity they have a shot. The problem is the Trinity offense has come alive behind their freshman QB. I think his ability to move the ball on offense mixed their great defense equals a win this time for Trinity. Rocks 27-14
  6. The Catholic offensive line will be the difference down the stretch. When the game is on the line and Catholic needs crucial 1st downs the Catholic Oline will get the job done. They are battle tested and ready for the moment. Knights 24-21
  7. Male by 17. Male will shut down the Douglass offense and push it out in the 4th quarter.
  8. When is the last time Franklin Co beat Catholic? They clearly won't shut down their run game, I said they would score 24. In order to stop the Wing T/Double Wing, you must be discipline assignment football. Catholic will do that. It will come down to tackling them in the open field
  9. As much as I want Douglass to pull this off, I don't think Douglass has enough fire power to keep up with Boyle. Give me Boyle by 17...10 point game and Boyle scores late in the 4th to make it look worse
  10. If Catholic can force Scott Co to go away from their base inside run, I think they win. If Scott Co can get 3-5 yards every run play that sets up their misdirection/big hit run game. I think Catholic is big enough and discipline enough to get stops. I got Catholic 27-24
  11. Woodford got a taste of what it's like to play a tough schedule week in and week out for the first time in years. It's easy to get up for a big game when you only have one big game a year. The kids are confident, the coaching staff can save some calls for big moments and the kids (most importantly) believe they can win. When a team plays a tough game every week they have to be able to handle the emotional roller coaster of an up and down season. That's difficult for a lot of kids to handle, especially when there is a QB controversy. The coaching staff has to show their cards in order to win games which develops tendencies. I think Ballard wins big and I could see Dixie Heights beating them in the first round. Dixie is battle tested and has enough to make it a game. Will Woodford be able to handle the pressure of being a big dog and supposed to make a run? I could see them buckling under the pressure
  12. Are we sure this is the case? All the boys who actually transferred were rumored to transfer prior to any coaching decision being made. I don't think Clevenger getting the job changes their decisions.
  13. Catholic in 2019 with Beau Allen and crew gave them everything they wanted. Heck 2 Douglass coaches were pushing and shoving on their sideline during the game.... It's sad this game has to be played at noon on Saturday. This should be a very exciting night in Lexington for 2 public schools and communities. It's a shame a small amount of people are allowed to ruin the atmosphere for everyone else. Both of these football programs have done a great job over the last several years building their programs to be top programs in the state. These programs deserve this stage That being said...I think this is a 4th quarter game but Douglass makes the crucial plays late to secure a 10 point victory.
