Boyle County 35 Lexington Catholic 21
Driver put the refs in a position that they had to toss him. I don't understand why a kid like that would put them in that position. That kid is a difference maker.

Did LCA lock Belfry out of the locker room at halftime?
They also don’t allow equal press box access. Which is illegal. You have to go at it when their ad to get your camera up there. I’ve never seen any class from their coaches or administrators.

Murray 20 Lexington Catholic 14 (OT)
Lots of bad calls in this game. LC had a 3 down drive because the refs were incompetent. However, the td they gave us on that incomplete pass was the worst call I’ve seen in 20 years as a coach. In an odd way I think it spurred Murray to the win. Great game. The fight for both teams was admirable.

Lexington Catholic names David Clark head football coach
The previous three head coaches had zero head coaching experience. Coach Clark has 17 years. I believe the stability and experience he brings make him an ideal hire.

I would have to go back and look on KHSAA but it’s Saturday haha. But Catholic beat Louisville Central to go to the state championship in 14 maybe? In most recent history, prior to the change of division, it’s been Boyle in the 2nd round three times and Belfry once. A lot of 3rd round matchups with Boyle and semifinal matchups with Highlands throughout the 00s and 10s. As far as coaches leaving Perry took a job at Troy/Bethiany took a job at Moeller/Baisch back to St X. Coaches are leaving for great jobs! Catholic needs stability, a coach that wants to be there for years.

All of your points are definitely a big part of taking the job! Your first point is a big decision for a public school coach and his family. Catholic would have to target someone that is very young which I'm sure they don't want or someone that is retired, maybe Catholic wants that maybe they don't. The coaches that are 10-15 years in are making a HUGE decision to leave public retirement. Your third point has to be explained for sure!! Why has there been so much turnover? Some of the moves are valid and some of the moves are questionable at best. But if you truly look at the history of Catholic you find tradition and pride. Coach Sphire built the program the right way and won a title. Coach Letton won a title after Sphire and kept Catholic in the state championship conversation. The years that follow Letton Catholic sees some highs and lows in the program. Pride in the program has never faltered. Your fourth point has to be taken into consideration! That being said, if you want to be a head coach at a top tier program shouldn't you except top tier competition? Catholic has always had top tier programs get in their way, Boyle and Highlands. If it wasn't for Boyle Co and Highlands, Catholic would be considered one of the best programs in the state. BUT that'e the game! Adapt and overcome, Catholic hasn't done that against those programs. The biggest question I think a coach would have, is the administration willing to do what is necessary to get the program back to the late 90s and 00s? If the answer to that is yes, it's a no brainer. But Catholic admin has a lot of work to do to catch up with the true top tier programs. If I live in Lexington and I have a son that has the potential to play college football why would I pay tuition to send him to Catholic when I can send him to Douglass for free? Until Catholic can argue valid points and sale their football program, nothing is going to change.

I don't know if Winston has any coaching experience outside of summer camps.

They are going after one big name first. If that doesn't work they are going on to a list of applicants.
