The Knights of Lexington Catholic begin their march through the 3A playoffs with sacrificial lamb Western out of Louisville. Lexington Catholic is 8-2 and has not lost since September 19th. 3A competition has not really threatened them at all. Western, on the other hand, 1-8, just getting their lone win this past Thursday against Doss, going winless in class play.

Western has scored more than 6 just twice this year, one of those games being the win over Doss. They were averaging less than 90 yards per game heading into that Doss game.

Lexington Catholic has been one of the biggest surprises of the year, far surpassing the expectations set for them. That route became perfectly clear after their upset win over Boyle County. Besides losses to LCA and Ballard earlier in the year, the Knights have experienced nothing but success. Senior Brady Wasik is one of the most dynamic football players in the entire state, playing on a whole of strengths to make him a threat in the passing and rushing game as well as defensively. Jack Wedding has also played a significant role in all three of those aspects as well this year.

Overall, Lexington Catholic has produced a productive offense involving many different contributors and an absolutely smothering defense. I do not expect Western to score. I even think there is a possibility they finish with negative yards. I expect the starters to be done really quickly in this one for the Knights.

This game has been moved to Thursday.

I think I see one person in the visitors stands.
