If you could change one thing about Kentucky High School Football what would it be?

I'd like to see neutral site semi-finals. There could be 20-30 predetermined sites that could be used as host based on the geographic location of semi-finalist. Then pick the twelve best locations to host those games at hopefully a centralized location.

The system is broken and it's only going to get worse. Have's and have nots. Most want to look at the 1st, and even 2nd round of the playoffs as the issue, but you can start seeing it much earlier.

I don't think I am for this but it would be nice to have televised double headers all spread out.

Make the regular season matter. No reason the first week of the playoffs needs to happen.

In this day in age they should let the kids transfer one time without penalty, or if there is a head coach change.

I have some random thoughts:

1. Dump our current RPI for Calpreps.  Calpreps is clearly superior and comprehensive.

2. Reduce the number of classifications.  We are seeing more and more there are a few good teams at the top of each class and then teams that have no chance.

3. Reduce the amount of teams that get in the playoffs by 50%.  Way too many teams get in the playoffs.

4. Allow one transfer with no restrictions.

5. Move the State Championships back to Thanksgiving weekend.

Would you choose any of those?  Something else?

3, Pick 3, please! 4 sounds like it might work.

No required knee pads.

That has to be the worst trend in football in the past five years. Some of these college players have their pants half way up their thigh.

1A- 2A - 3A - 4A

Less Teams in playoffs

Allow the 4 State Championship Teams to have a chance to be SUPER Champion (1A champ play 2A champ) and (3A champ play 4A Champ) Less Teams in playoffs would still allow a 5 week total playoff scenario

if in play this year would allow a Boyle Co to play Trinity for SUPER champion.

ALWAYS play the Championship and SUPER championship games to be played at our KY small colleges (Campbellsville, Centre, Georgetown…) Would be a much better atmosphere and most of our high school college athletes will attend these small colleges anyway.

High school kids do to.  I just look at the high school photos people post on SM and just laugh.  Clearly it's a rule very few official enforce.

Why don’t their coaches enforce it? Why does it fall on the officials to be the fashion police? If they want to subject themselves to injury go for it!

Create a Spring/ Summer league 7-on-7, help with the July craziness of trying to get everything in before August.

I'm still 100% on board with all of these suggestions.

Indiana tried a tournament between state champs years ago. It was horrible with smaller schools getting destroyed and ending their championship year with humiliating losses in many cases.

There are class sizes for a reason in football, numbers matter. There are of course outliers where some small schools in some years could defeat much larger schools, but rarely will a state champion lose to a smaller school.
