I expect a close game. Don’t be fooled by looking at comparative scores against Ryle. A Cooper upset is possible.

Why wouldn’t Highlands win big?

That formula rarely seems to work. We already seen an example of that this year in NKY.  Simon Kenton beat Dixie. CovCath destroyed Simon Kenton. Yet CovCath needed a touchdown with 30 seconds to go to beat Dixie. Things change as the season goes on, teams matchup differently against certain teams, etc.

I think for Highlands this is the most important two weeks of their schedule outside of playoff time. They have a pesky Cooper team who has the athletes to match up well with yours, followed by what will be a (hopefully) well rested and physical Dixie team. If they win this contest by two or more touchdowns, I say they have a better than good shot of being a final four team in 5A.

That formula is the basis of all the computer ratings that take into account scoring margin. More often than not, it works just fine. SK had internal issues during the CovCath game and stopped playing. It happens. What are the reasons why Highlands won’t be up 3 scores on Cooper in the 3rd quarter?

Co-sign.

I would like some clarification for those that are more in the know than I.  Am I mistaken that Cooper was not the majorities pick to win this 5A district prior to games being played?  If I am then I apologize, but if Cooper were to win this game I would not call it an upset by any means.

As a Highlands fan this game scares me.  I hate playing good teams that you “should” beat.  Recipe for an upset.

Here is a link to the final score thread from last year if you are interested:

Sounds like Cooper shouldn’t even show up?

Cooper will have to protect the QB and establish some semblance of a run game.  Highlands will bring the heat early.

Cooper is Legit.

Not at all. I think Cooper is a serious threat to Highlands.

This should be a fun game! O'Hara Vs. Benke- Bring it!

Very, very few things in life are static. As time moves on, we get more information, things change. What anyone said 5 weeks ago loses a lot of relevance in today's opinion. Highlands has exceeded expectations and Cooper has not lived up to many people's expectations.

If this were week one, then a Cooper win wouldn't be unexpected. After 5 weeks and how Highlands has played the last 2-3 weeks, a Cooper win would be an upset.
