In the regular season meeting between these two it seemed like Boyle was going to run away from the Knights leading 27-7 late in the 3rd Quarter but Lex Cath never quit and ended up coming back to win the game 28-27. Boyle scored with seconds left in the game but an illegal motion penalty nullified the TD. Boyle is fresh off of a 43-21 win over Boyd County and Lexington Catholic won 14-0 over Bourbon County. Fun fact, the team that has won the regular season game has never lost the playoff matchup. Can Boyle break that trend and knock off Lex Cath to keep their title hopes alive?

Should be a great playoff atmosphere at Rebel Stadium Friday night!

In the 2nd half of the first game, the Knights found a weakness in the Rebel Defense and exploited it for 3 TD's.

Will be interesting to see if Boyle can close that problem up.

LC won the first matchup so it's hard to say they aren't the favorites.

At the end of that first game: Lexington Catholic got hot, Boyle stopped playing, and every possible break went the Knight's way. I think it's more likely that Boyle puts up a running clock in this rematch than Lexington Catholic wins again.

The best team will win in this game no matter where it's at, but has to be a sick feeling knowing you won the regular season match up only to be rewarded with an away playoff game against the same said team.

Rebels by two or three scores.

I think Boyle County gets it done!

Sage Dawson returns, so I'm going to say Boyle County with a running clock.

I understand the significance of his return. I just have to wonder how healthy he truly is and what he looks like off of injury. From what I was told some thought he may be done for the year.

What are realistic expectations going in to this game for Dawson?

That’s a flaw in the system. No way the team that won the district should have to travel to the runner up in the same district for the playoffs. Cross direct runner up, no issue. The cross district could be stronger. But traveling to the district runner up instead of having the home field you earned should be corrected. One sentence in the rules fixes that problem.

? % agree.

I agree that Boyle shouldn't be hosting having lost to their district rival during the regular season.

That said, I always pull for teams that play mine.  Go Rebels!!!!

He was dressed to play against Boyd but did not play.  Was told that he was out 2 to 4 weeks and that was 2 weeks ago.  This week makes 3 weeks and don't see him sitting out this week.

This time the tables will turn and Boyle will be headed to the next round.   The only game they played was as strange as a Halloween movie.

GO REBELS!!!

I disagree. It was kind of a Murphy's Law situation for Boyle County in the last quarter during the regular season, culminating with a touchdown by Boyle that ended up taken off the board because of a penalty (was the right call too; just mentioning everything going wrong). Lexington Catholic is definitely good enough to win this game but with the way the last game played out and the fact this time one is in Danville, I have to believe Boyle County is the favorite.

We will find out if Boyle learned from their mistakes last month.  Bodner hurt and going out in the 3rd. quarter last game not only hurt our offense running the ball but was also our safety on defense.  Double whammy!

Boyle will need to put some pressure on the QB and not give him all day to pick and choose his receivers.  If they do that I feel we will win the game.  If not, very easily could be the same results as the last meeting.
