The Double Deuce
The Cougars improve to 4-2 on the season, with losses to CovCath and St Henry (whom the Camels beat), in a 1-0 victory over the 10th's Campbell County High School. They play next on Tuesday against a very scrappy Lawrenceburg (IN) team on the road, while Conner should get that one, it certainly will require a lot of their attention. Camels fall to 3-3-1 on the season, with losses to Holy Cross, NewCath, and now Conner. The Camels get Dixie on Tuesday night! 1
2 much info
I find this to be a surprising score line. I expected the Cougars to win by a larger deficit. A tip of the cap to the Camels for a hard fought game.
kyag
The Cougars are missing a few starters due to injuries from the Varsity squad, Dyer/Butcher on offense and Toler/Wood/Davey on the defensive side. The Cougars had a number of shots on goal, but a big shout out to the Camel keeper (Jenkins a sophomore) who had some fantastic saves. Owen King saved a PK in the first half and Trey Wagner sealed the shutout in the second half. Conner has been playing some of their freshman class up, 4 of the 5 freshman played and held their own against the upper classman with Grady Noble (freshman) having a chance to score twice but denied by the keeper. As mentioned above Conner goes to Lawrenceburg IN on Tuesday but perhaps the game of the day for Thursday 9/1 is when Conner visits NCC on the grass of Morscher Field. Then Conner travels to play Scott in Taylor Mill on Saturday. 1
2 much info
Morscher Field has only improved throughout the years (as if it had the option to regress). I'm not aware of the NKY schedule but Conner at NCC sounds enticing. I appreciate your insight on the Conner v Campbell game.
The Double Deuce
Thanks @kyag, missing Dyer is certainly a major piece missing.
