This team beat Tennessee by almost 30, then rolled Kansas on the road two weeks later.  

Hard to believe it's the same team, but the wheels sure fell off.

I hate it more than anything for Oscar.  I love that kid.  The lone bright spot of this season. 

St. P shot over 51% from the floor and 53% on 3's.

Listening to Oscar in the postgame, I’m genuinely sad for that kid. 

I think the sequence that sums the game up for me was when Oscar forced that jump ball to save possession and Kentucky up six. Just under four minutes left. Wheeler immediately throws it at Grady’s feet seconds later and Kentucky turns it over anyway. No idea whether I’d call it Wheeler or Grady’s fault but it was totally unforced. Wheeler turned it over the next possession too. In fact, Kentucky would go on to not even get a shot attempt for a minute and a half, and would only make one more shot for the rest of regulation. All beginning at that moment with a chance to put their boot on their throat. 
 

No attempts for two and a half minutes after going up six. ATTEMPTS.

That 2013-14 team had a bunch of UK fans calling for a 40-0 season.  That team that out underachieved up until the postseason.  That's not even a little bit debatable.

He’s a great guy and player. He played well and gave max effort. He deserved better.

Cats defense sucked tonight and down the stretch of the season. I think before TyTy got hurt, they were Top 10 in KenPom but never got back to it.

My moment is more about watching my 14 month old son dunk on his lil Tikes hoop and us pretending he's Tshiebwe and the joy that brings us vs. hoping Calipar/Kentucky look bad after a loss.

So yeah, I am optimistic and cheering on the coach of my team, cause thats what fans do. If others rather be as pessimistic as possible, thats their prerogative.

I had that exact thought the other night when watching a video of Oscar. Exact same guy IMO. 

Man, I was spoiled in the late 90's!

 

You could see the direction of this game from 5 minutes in. Cats play flat-footed defense, can't make shots, and seemed poorly coached. This loss was preventable with a little preparation and defensive effort. 

 

Cal lost me tonight.

I got you, it was bad taste calling you out on Cal.  You’re simply guilty of being loyal, there’s worse things in life.  I just feel like this 7 year spiral has been taxing.  Maybe we can’t get back to 2009-2015 Cal.
