That notwithstanding, Atchley's blowups were taking place repeatedly in the classroom, so the fact that he is a coach is irrelevant. And there had been enough prior incidents of Atchley blowing up at kids that he was placed on probation by the school. And even after being placed on probation, as a grown man, he was unable to control himself well enough to keep from screaming and cussing at kids.

That is a problem.

Not saying they did or didn't, but a heads up of what had happened woulda been nice to give to the school looking to hire your former coach, one could say that in itself is childish & irresponsible.  Good luck with your new coach. ?

Hard to tell what the full story is. I tend to side with coaches. Teachers, coaches, Public servants rarely get the right to the full story being told.

Yes and it will get you into situations like this. 

There are two sides to every story and not all video shows full story either. I am not defending the actions of the Coach. But everyone makes mistakes when dealing with teenagers. 
 

Someone sending a video to the BOE has a personal vendetta against the coach. Appears to want to ruin a young man.

You have no idea what communication took place between officials at either school.  None, but keep assuming.

From what I'm reading here, it doesn't sound like the video was necessarily made "public". I think we've got a good enough idea of what went on in whatever video was circulated between the administrators at Bullitt East and Lafayette. We don't need it posted on here.

I hadn't heard anything further, but based on what @Big Things Kentucky and @BEChargers posted, it sounds like they're saying Atchley is no longer going to be the head coach at Lafayette. I'd need one of them to clarify that info, though.

We heard different reasons... but  there was a issue and the job was coming back open.

Coach Atchley has been great to us and we where looking forward to his return to BTC hopefully things get squared away.

Ethan Atchley is one heck of a coach and a program who gets him will be lucky to have him. Every single person makes mistakes. Some of them are very hard to forgive, others not as much. I know that we hold coaches to a higher standard as we should, but also we need to realize that Coach Atchley has done a lot of good for a lot of kids, and that he is a young coach who made a mistake... A mistake that I believe is forgivable. If an administration decides to take a chance on him, they will be getting one heck of a steal. Provide the opportunity to earn the players/parents/admin trust again. I believe in giving people what they have earned, and he has earned the right to have another chance to prove himself.. IMO. 

This was in his teaching role, and the video is from a classroom. Obviously if it was in his coaching role nobody would care.

They do have a new coach chosen for Lafayette the posting was taken down about 15 minutes ago. It should be announced in the next day or so.  

Also, on top of everything else from what I am hearing the new coach will have the term (title) “interim” in front of the name so I would only assume that the job may possibly in the future be advertised for a 3rd time in less than 4 months unless the interim will be for next season. It sure seems like strange times at Lafayette.
