It is really good to see guys looking on the brighter side and not shooting down the kids/schools from the 'lower' socioeconomic settings. Many kids in some of those areas have only their football coach to look to and their school. That's why I appreciate so much a coach fighting in tough settings to keep dreams and hope alive while not having the numbers, money and same community support as many others might. Those guys are so extremely important. Congratulations to C. Foley for being such a great asset to the kids of Frankfort. In all my years of coaching I have never read, seen or hear Craig put down others to boost his program or ego. That is a sign of a great leader and good man. Brian Washington did this for a long time at Paris High School. There are many kids that were/are fortunate to have had these guys as their coach.

I've heard similar things about the head coach at John Hardin.

I believe Pike County is the "richest" county in KY. At least they were at one time.

Could consolidation be the answer? Franklin Co and FHS pool together and share resources.

Upgrades to the weight room and locker room. $100k wouldn’t get you far but that’s where I’d start.

100k Would be invested in the Field House, Locker Room, Weight Room and Creating a study hall/players lounge for the kids and would purchase some fridges and stock those with Gatorade, water, and snacks so the kids had a safe space to study before practice with some food and drinks. The building is old but I do believe with some help this all can be achieved!

Is this another Clay Clevenger deal like he got at Danville? They should look and see what Danville had to do in their search???

It's just Tough for small independent schools to get funds. I never got to play for Coach Foley but, he is a coach you wouldn't mind going to bat for.

Foley was about the kids, and I don't even like to give out the "Coach" title a lot but he was deserving.

 100k isn't making a dent in the situation, again one of the hurtles you have to get over is everything downtown is consider "historic" so you cant just knock it down or even build on, you have to go through the historical society and get everything approved, half the item the dont even make anymore.

I've been to several games at Sower Field but some of you guys will have to fill me in on some details. I assume the area circled yellow is a practice field. I know the home fieldhouse is beside the parking lot while the visiting team uses the old building in the top left. Would a field house addition be possible in the area I've circled red on this map? I know that cuts into parking and tightens up the entire area (not to mention costs some money), but street parking works for many schools across the state and I know people park at the church for games.

That is not a practice field, just a grassy area. If they practice there, it’s on the game field. 

If they were going to expand the current field house, it would be opposite of the red square on the other side of the field house, IMO. Not that they couldn’t use the area in red, but they’d be sacrificing parking. By going the other way, you don’t lose any parking, only a grassy area that’s not really used.

Gotcha. Appreciate the clarification. I've been there several times (really enjoyed it by the way), but it has been at least ten years.
