I can get down with that, but it can still hurt you in the candidate market. If a coach has a choice between a place with top notch facilities vs not then they'll likely lean to the former if other areas are alike.

Fieldhouse was already in the works at the end of Mueller era probably (but could be wrong).

I am more referring to all the nice gadgets that are "wants" not "needs" for a program.

60 inch TV on the sideline for real time evaluation, drones in the air during practices, ipads for coaches to review with players during the game, parachutes for running fitness, etc, etc, etc..... 

Yes I would for sure compare, Highlands situation to Frankfort’s.

Who says you have to go get a current head coach?  Most good coordinators want to be head coaches and are hungry to be successful.  Yes If I'm a head coach with great facilities and in a good school system and program I'm probably not looking at Frankfort.  If I'm a young coordinator who wants to be a head coach and build a program the way I want with school/community support behind me then I am absolutely looking at Frankfort.

I realize there is some sarcasm in FLYGUY's comment.  My point is, relatively speaking Frankfort should try to get a person that might be able to have that personality to go out and drum up the money needed for the program since it isn't coming thru the school's budget.  For that matter it's not going to come from the parents in the program....you will probably need to get it from businesses near and far, that have a soft heart for Frankfort!

I get Fort Thomas and Frankfort are a tiny bit different in demographics.....so don't think I am that naïve.

No one said that. Not even me, but if I have no head coaching experience it doesn't change my opinion on how you choose between comparable programs that have top notch facilities or don't. 

I don't think an established head coach at a good school system and program with good facilities would even put in for this job to have to make that decision.

Frankfort is in no way comparable to Highlands in that regard. I hear what you’re saying, but it’s not the same. 

I mean Frankfort has talent. The had a kid in there gator pipeline, left there middles school program and went to Elkhorn. Then he turned around and left to GRC. I’d say he is the best Rb in the class of ‘25 in the state. He left because of all the bells and whistles GRC could give him.

Even more important, the head coach needs to be in the building connecting with the kids to have success.

Yet when you have scenarios of coaches in the building and kids failing then obviously coaches in the building isn’t the only solution. Relationships can be established in other ways. Just because it’s the traditional way doesn’t mean it’s the only way.
