Actually it doesn’t. I have been told job has been offered but the person they offered to put them on hold waiting to see if the get there Shelby Co job.

You’re claiming FHS made an offer, that person told them “Hold on, let me see if I get this other job first,” and FHS agreed to that? 

If that’s the case, that means that candidate is a really good one and worth waiting on, or the list of applicants wasn’t very impressive. Certainly hope it’s the former.

This is disappointing that the committee does not see this position as an elite opportunity. It appears that letting an applicant put you on the back burner for another program means you don’t have enough belief in your program or hold it at the same regard! 
 

IMO, FHS has a better opportunity to contend for a title than SC in a stacked 4A class and competitive district!

This makes zero sense. 

I would imagine those doing the hiring thought that this person was the best candidate. While it’s not ideal to be in competition with another job, you’d have a hard time making an argument that the “committee” didn’t believe in the program while they are competing with another school for the same candidate. 

It would be better to be in competition for a candidate who had interest from other jobs than to hire someone no other school wants. 

This is jus here say I’m not on the committee or no insight but if your on the hiring committee, what do you do in this situation…? I’m guessing he gave them a time he would get back with them.

situation like this are tough because I know few of the freshmen I’ve talked to are anxious.

They wanted a middle school coach from Shelby is what I had heard. Can’t recall the name of the guy.

I don't recall the name wasn't anyone I had ever heard of.
