Beechwood is what every public school should aspire toward in academics, culture and extracurriculars.

In regards to BW, did you guys mean to say KY Independent School aka "quasi private"? Surely we are not going down this rabbit hole again?

I felt the pressure of the moment got to LCA last year and they got in a hole early.  If LCA doesn't get to cute early and get settled into this game without being in a whole, I think they win 31-17.

Xavier Brown gets the headlines, but Mason Moore will make a few big plays in this game to put LCA over the top!

There have been several posts about LCA having more big play guys than Xavier Brown. The same is true for Beechwood. Here are Beechwood players to watch beyond Cam Hergott.

Mitchell Berger - Everyone in Ft. Mitchell has been waiting all year for a game like last week from Berger. The Tigers didn't need it till last week. Berger rushed 18 times for 189 yards and 2 TD's against Mayfield. He will run by you or he will run through you. One senior on playoff opponent commented that Berger hit him like he had never been hit in his high school career. It might come on offense, or it might come on defense but look for plays out of Berger. By the way, he played injured in last year's title game also.

Parker Mason - This will be pound for pound the toughest player on the field today. He is small but he packs a punch. Quickness plus speed. He is #4 in 2A at 23.3 yards per catch. He also is an elite return man and starting CB. He will have a number of opportunities to make game changing plays.

Liam McCormack - WR/S McCormack has made a number of big plays for Beechwood over the past two years. The unfortunate injury to last year's title game star Brady Moore opened the door to more chances for McCormack - and boy has he made the most of it. Key catches. Interceptions. McCormack has made a number of big plays in the playoffs. At 6'3" with speed, he is a big target with great hands.

Xavier Campbell - DE Campbell has been among the sacks leaders in the state all year. He will be called on to hold the edge against Brown and apply pressure in passing situations. Don't be surprised if Beechwood's "X" man makes a key sack or defensive play in this game.

Tanner Jackson - TE/DE Jackson had a big TD catch in last year's title game. When you get in games like this, you go deeper on the roster for a big play. Jackson is another big target at 6'3" 240 pounds.

Jake Conrad - Beechwood's first year kicker has been solid all year. He kicked a clutch 36 yard field goal in Beechwood's game against Mayfield. Points could be at a premium today.

There are more on this deep Beechwood roster. Should be a great game.

Independent schools are not at all private schools. They are 100% public. Anyone who lives in the school district ago can go there. Anyone who lives outside of the school district can go there if they follow whatever process is set up and If there is room. The same is true for every public school district in the state.

Getting my popcorn ready for this one! 🍿🍿🍿

A tough act for Beechwood and LCA to follow, but if any game this weekend is built for it, it's this one.

Two of the top 10 teams in the state, pound for pound, in one of the most highly anticipated small school title games in recent memory. Plus, major Mr. Football implications.

Let's hope it lives up to the hype.
