Tickets for the game can be purchased at KHSAA site. $15 until Tuesday and then the price goes up to $20.  No paper tickets, all electronic.  Parking opens one hour prior to kickoff, so I guess no tailgating.   Might be worth reading through the rules prior to going.

I will be keeping my personal record for perfect attendance at every Beechwood State Championship game.  Can’t wait!

  • I give LCA the edge in strength of schedule.  However, the tough part was early in the season for both teams and they both have been on cruise control for the last two months.  In short, I don't think

  • As a sore bottomed Mayfield fan, and I stress fan, I think everyone should be cautious in how much weight you place on the Beechwood mauling of Mayfield.  Before the season I believe most informed fan

Correct. That is what every public school should aspire to. Build it and they will come.

These are both Super Teams for 2A standards. Excited to see this game. I easily think that both of these teams are two of the Top 5-6 teams regardless of class. A lot of talent and well coached. Give me LCA slightly 31-28 to avenge last years loss.

LCA by 10-14. LCA will be the best defense and offense Beechwood will see this year, Beechwood will not be the same for LCA. LCA just has too much talent on offense to handle and I think will be able to stop Beechwood running game using just the base defense.

With all due respect to a fine LCA team, I find it hard to believe that LCA has faced a better team than Beechwood this year. All the arguments can be made, but they are just “paper arguments”…I have personally seen this bunch of Tigers in action, and LCA had better play their very best game…even then it might not be enough. I believe Beechwood wins back to back championships…they are that good.

I have made a pick in the other 5 games, can anyone help me choose who to pick in this one?  I picked LCA last year because I thought they were the better team and I still believe they were the better team last year but Beechwood won the game.  Who should I take this year?

Cov Cath and Mayfield were their two best wins.

LCA beat Madison Central, Boyle, CAL, LexCath, Pikeville.

Both teams beat everybody there were supposed to.  Beechwood only gave up double digit points twice.

I just think LCA's schedule just a little tougher but I doubt it makes much difference now.  I think it comes down to the wire again but I think LCA takes it.

Not sure you'd want to watch it. The offense LCA will play will look nothing like how they played at Boyle.  Boyle had personnel issues that they fixed and had no idea the offense LCA would run that game.  LCA is loaded with talent and took it to Boyle but it was just a funny mix of things that happened for that game.  If LCA doesn't beat Boyle and beat them the way they did, I'm not sure Boyle is as good right now as they would have been.

BTW, I'll take LCA by 7 in the title game.

As BEChargers said, LCA did not even have their starting QB that game. WR Mason Moore played QB against Boyle County. You aren't going to see LCA's normal offense watching their game against Boyle Co.

I am watching it right now.  I think not watching this game is a missed opportunity.

So you think Beechwood is better than Boyle County? ?

Beechwood is a really good team no doubt. They have played a really weak schedule compared to LCA though and I think that will matter. I believe the Beechwood defense is also strong, but has benefited from playing really weak teams all season for the most part, especially in district. They played CCH while CCH was still trying to figure out the QB situation, and basically didn't even try to throw the ball. And Somerset, which is normally a really good team was awful this year. I watched Beechwood and Mayfield last week, no offense to Mayfield, but their O and D line looked like a middle school team.

I just don't believe their D has seen anything this season like what LCA brings to the table. LCA having beaten Boyle, with their backup QB, speaks volumes to me. And I don't believe Beechwood is on Boyle's level.

Respectfully to your statement about Beechwood playing a weaker schedule, I beg to differ. I wouldn't call Paintsville, Cov Cath, Mayfield, Newport Cath, 6A Dixie Heights weak. I understand that LCA had some big wins over Bolye Co, Mad Central and Cal, but comparing to the schedule It appears that both played a tough schedule. No weak cupcakes in both of their season. Oh and  I picked Beechwood.

I was hoping nobody would ever watch that game again.  If you're a Boyle fan the rush defense is hard to watch.  But, like I said in earlier post, I don't think Boyle is as good as they are right now if they don't lose the way they did to LCA.  So if that loss helped us get better to the point of winning a state title then I'll take it.  But it is hard to watch.

I am watching it to learn about LCA, I just finished the first half, very competitive, but I would definitely give LCA the edge so far.  And the halftime score is 14 all.
