I sure hope Bret Baierlein gets a chance to interview and has a legitimate shot at getting the position. He did a great job keeping the wheels on this fall. 

If I was a Garrard County fan, parent, or player, it would be tough for me not to support him. 

As a guy that has been a head coach for 30 years, I have a ton of respect for what he did this fall. Not easy to do at all.

Throw in he is a great person... makes him an even better candidate. He loves that school and community. I can guarantee you, other coaches will try to come in, use MQ, build a quick resume, and bolt. I would say that Bret is willing to stay and build a program. 

Alot of coaches are in it for the right reasons... the kids. But, several are not. If you got one of the good guys, I would keep him.

And... Chuck Smith, Larry French, Noel Rash, Philip Haywood and most of your top coaches were once assistant coaches. Someone had to give them a chance. Maybe Bret deserves this chance. I don't know all the details, but from the outside looking in, that appears reasonable.

I would expect to have a better idea of legitimate candidates this week. I think a few names we've talked about will be marked off quickly. 

I would give previous Head Coach at Rowan County, Previous Offensive Coordinator at Danville and current Tight End Coach at Boyle County, Kyle Singleton a call. Look what he did with Vancleave at Danville. I think Qusinberry is the same type of player.

I know I made a joke earlier at the expense of my friend coach Ray but I will say this in 100% seriousness and that is that I do not believe any coach from the current BC staff will be going anywhere. Thats not to say that Kyle shouldn't be considered as he is a great coach and should be on that list. I just don't think he would consider it.

@ChiefSmoke filled out a reference form for someone who was going to apply, maybe he has more info? Are they even making phone calls yet? Curious if the person that applied has been contacted?
