I don't think it is out of the question he could coach til he is 75. People are living longer, healthier lives. And, he's got a motor & passion at football. 

 

 

Highlands is Highlands and this looks to be a great hire.  But something must have been in the air for Sphire to leave a $120,000 a year job on the SE Georgia coast.

Seems like the right guy at the right time.

Who has any in depth background on what Fort Thomas and the community can expect with this Coach?  Is he personable/approachable (like Mueller) or a stand off hard nosed character (like Duffy).  What type of coaching philosophy has he employed at his past stops....a lot of spread high flying offenses or grind'em out hard nosed running style or just goes with the flow and deals with what the personnel he has to go with their strengths....The resume is super impressive, just wondering now on how is he going to be on the job and in the community just for curiosity, especially if he has deep roots with LexCath there has to be a few people that are on here that have past relationships with him....

Coach Sphire is super personable and loves to throw the ball.

Sphire's teams have always been air raid offenses as far back as I can remember.

You will get a little of both with him. But all for the good.

Sounds like a great hire for HHS.   While I did not obsess over the coaching vacancy thread,  I could not help  but follow it some.   Was Coach Sphire on anybody's radar?   I don't recall his name being mentioned.
