Keyword...confirmed. Meaning the test results have come back confirmed as positive.

My brother is a respiratory therapist on the "pandemic response team" at Good Samaritan in Cincinnati. He's been caring for 3 coronavirus patients since Monday. His words, "They are positive. We just don't have the official test information proving that they are positive."

An 8-month old baby in Louisville has tested positive.
My wife is on the treatment team.

She is now on quarantine at home and is doing well.

They're probably just mad that she's a better driver than everyone else in the state.

It was announced a little while ago that 50% of the cases in the U.S. come from 10 counties. There are more than 3,000 counties in the U.S.

Yeesh.

Also, the ability to trace viral phenotype and genotype markers in virus strains is key in developing proper vaccines. If you want to develop a vaccine to try to fight COVID-19, and then, oh hey, we've got a strain of it with different markers...it's incredibly helpful to the process to be able to go find where that different strain started and how/when it became different.

Phenotype = The way it appears/looks. Physical traits.

Genotype = The way it is built genetically.
