Personally I'm not a fan of Continuing to play Fleming County and West Carter. I feel like Russell needs to beef up the schedule.

I’m sure they kept them for EKC purposes.

I got half the schedule from the KHSAA and I found the Ashland date and Ironton date on a site. I wasn't aware of the Montgomery game or Mason County. Send me a pm on where you found the full schedule.

All the KHSAA site has is:

Raceland

Lawrence County

Fleming County

Greenup County

West Carter

I wish Mason County would get back to the level they were back in the early 2000's. I am not sure they will help Russell get ready for the playoffs right now. I don't know much about Montgomery County.

Overall I would give Russell's strength of schedule a C grade.

What is your opinion on Russell's schedule @DevilMayCare ?

Overall, it's a little disappointing. Like I said in the Ashland thread, Russell should be on an uptick over the next few years. It would be nice to see them upgrade the schedule accordingly. This new alignment shook up Russell's district and allowed them more scheduling flexibility than they've had in a long time. I wish they had taken more advantage of it.

Montgomery County is a good pick-up, though. They've been pretty good the past couple of years. I don't understand renewing the Mason County series. They've dropped off quite a bit since their best days under Coach Buchanan.

I think we're in agreement on the grade, GRD. I'll give it a C, as well.

You're right, I know we played there last year. We should get Greenup at home. I wonder what is up with that?

The sequence of home-away-home-away might have been interrupted by the fact that they're now district opponents. If they play Greenup at home next season, that would give Russell all three district games at home.
