April 15, 20188 yr Finally made it to Knockback Nat's last night, as the wife was in the mood for wings. The place was packed, but we got the food quickly. Nice, smokey, meaty wings. Reminded me I need to replace my smoker so I can get back to smoking stuff, especially wings.
April 15, 20188 yr The new BBC at theater square in Louisville just opened, are there Friday for lunch with a couple coworkers. I work for Kindred my desk is directly above the restaurant and have been watching the smoke come out of their kitchen exhaust all week. We work 12-9 so lunch is at 4pm, they have a happy hour special 75 cent wings, $4 for pretzels with beer cheese. The wings were big and meaty sauce wasn’t that hot only choices were buffalo, bbq, or dry rub. We all got the buffalo. Good flavor but would, classify as a mild buffalo. Pretzels were good but just 2 sticks for the $4 not really a special beer cheese was meh, would have preferred a queso . Did get some house made kettle chips and they were pretty good.
April 22, 20188 yr Didn't eat out just now, but it seemed like it. The local Kroger had leg of lamb marked down from $6.99 per pound to $0.99 per pound on Friday. My better half cooked it this afternoon, served with roasted potatoes and green beans, Greek salad and strawberry cheesecake. I got plenty of mutton.
April 23, 20188 yr Author Took the 93 year old mother in law to the Highlander in Fort Thomas for lunch yesterday. Cool antique store and bourbon bar combined. Also has a nice reception hall attached. Ended up knowing the owner. Later the 2 of us did Brio for dinner. Had not been there in a long time. They have a few special 3 course meals for $25.00 to celebrate restaurant week. We had just bought a $100 certificate and you get an addition $25.00 card.
April 25, 20188 yr BOGO pork chop dinners at local Tumbleweed yesterday. Chips and salsa, salad, baked potatoes, two pork chops each. With just water to drink, less than $16.00 plus tip. We get four meals out of this deal. The manager is a buddy - graduated high school with my son and has transformed our local 'weed. He's this year's KY Tumbleweed manager of the year (second time in the past three years).

May have to give it another try.
April 25, 20188 yr We ate at Tumbleweed in Louisville Saturday and forgot my debtit card had to drive back up there yesterday to pick it up. Good food but what an idiot.
April 25, 20188 yr Had a breakfast meeting, this morning, at Ellies Diner out near Tampa Bay Downs. Good solid American breakfast, no foo foo stuff. I know it's hard to screw grits up, but theirs are amazing.
May 13, 20188 yr Lunch at a cheesy-looking but good Italian place in Louisville called Milantoni; very similar to the Melini Cucina restaurants we like. The Calzone was 16" across. Drove over to Steel City Pops for dessert. Jeptha Creed distillery on the way back home for some libatkions.

I've gotten to the point that I refuse to order them unless I'm in the deep South.
